Self isolation from China for the foreseeable. Ban Chinese imports. Subsidise UK business to fill the void and keep prices down.
Zero unemployment. |

I had heart problems a few years ago.... Been on medication ever since, so I think I might be getting one of these letters soon telling me to stay in for twelve weeks.
No footie or racing.... Might start playing a bit of online poker. Maybe try to learn a language, Spanish maybe. Anyone else got any ideas? |

Although we can expect a significant fall in traffic fatalities. |

But for the deaths I think a period of realism brought by an event like Covid-19 is good for the people and businesses of every country. It focuses on value, and not just financial status, and me, me, me only.
The death rate might be pretty normal, it's the uncertainty that's concerning for most eg a smoker and/or a heavy drinker is more likely to get related diseases eg lung/throat cancer and cirrhosis respectively than one who does neither. But, Covid-19 does not discriminate. |

UK tourism to soar as people stay home.
Community spirit returns as people look after their neighbours. Society appreciates its lorry drivers, shelf stackers and till staff. |

Still short of 15,000 deaths world wide, and the virus has been going for nearly three months.
Even 15,000 deaths in the UK alone in the past, would not have resulted in the madness we are seeing from our government and the stockpiling plebs. |

I'm not a vindictive person however, I'll remind those who've panicked-bought about KARMA. Events/things in life happen for a reason.

China is claiming that they have had 81k cases, with 3,261 deaths.
They claim that they have just 5,353 active cases remaining, giving a mortality rate of 4.3% for completed cases. Now, we don't believe them, there are many more deaths. So, are there more deaths within the number of reported cases, or are there many more unreported cases, some of whom will have survived. Which is it? |

Yes nick 4 extra is a good distraction even if the loop comes around a bit quick, learning a language is a great idea,as for me I used to paint a lot before life took over, for some unknown reason I went into hobby craft about 6 months ago & bought a load of new supplies but didn’t have the time to start up again, nows my chance.

Plenty of examples of humanity at its best in this crisis. Millions of people doing what they have been asked to do in order to help others.
People are looking out for neighbours, friends, family. The vast majority of UK behaving in the interest of saving lives . Thousands of health workers prepared to risk their lives in order to save others. So many positive stories, just don't let the selfish few take over the news. |

If the world powers set out to wreck the world's economy they couldn't do a better job.
The flu pandemic in 1968 took 1 million. The Asian Flu (1956-1958) killed 2 million. 1918 flu pandemic 20 50 million. https://www.mphonline.org/worst-pandemics-in-history/ Where were the economy destroying, freedom restricting measures, and empty shelves then? How many schools were closed? This is a case of media exposure driving governments into making some very bad decisions. |

It's way way more than that
It might be fewer if they're counting the deaths from regular flu in with the figures. |
|
By:
Don't worry Doc, we'll arrange for you to go and perform an audit of the numbers, you'll get to the bottom of it.

By:
What are the current figures from regular flu?
Which we were told on TV by a credible authority to average 8,000 per year in the UK. They don't appear to be releasing those. |

Our tech to help people is better
What tech? The NHS site says there's no treatment for Coronavirus. They can pump air into a really sick patient's lungs to give their body a bit more time to heal itself but that's all. |

The world is much more connected now. People travelling in their millions across countries day and night
Between 1918 and 1920 a disturbingly deadly outbreak of influenza tore across the globe, infecting over a third of the world’s population and ending the lives of 20 – 50 million people. Of the 500 million people infected in the 1918 pandemic, the mortality rate was estimated at 10% to 20%, with up to 25 million deaths in the first 25 weeks alone. Coronavirus is nowhere as deadly. |
