Tara Jane Langston has warned people ‘not to take any chances’ in a video made from an intensive care unit. Langston, who says she was diagnosed with Covid-19 on Sunday, added that: ‘If anyone still smokes, put the cigarettes down because I’m telling you now, you need your lungs. Please, none of you take any chances’

True Case but I believe even 24 hours off the tabs gives the lungs and heart a break.  Could be all that's needed for one person to stay alive?

I'd be very keen to know if you're correct, Em.  Can you remember where you might have seen it?  I first saw it on Business Insider yesterday - and from there the DM.

A 39-year-old coronavirus patient who could hardly breathe posted a stark video from the ICU to warn people who think it won't happen to them

I just hate news , full stop . It's always portrayed with an editorial / State agenda . Never anything postive considered worth a mention . May possibly be because there simply isn't anything positive to report !

I read days ago that this was months old, which made sence at the time. She's seems to be complaining about a smoking related illness + chest infection.. Maybe that's not the case Confused maybe i shouldnt believe everything i hear/read... Blush

Police Scotland begins shutting down pubs
Police in Scotland have begun forcing pubs and clubs to close.
Emergency closure orders are being enforced on licensed premises which are in defiance of the UK prime minister's order to close last week, according to Police Scotland.
In a statement, the force said officers are visiting those premises to implement compulsory 24-hour closures, which it said can and will be repeated if neccessary.
It follows First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warning those pubs that have not closed that there would be emergency legislation brought in to force them to do so this week.

EM - people like trilby, aka, myself would be the first to call out on this forum when we see so called fake news.  People need to realise that this Covid-19 is a reality.  Not sure why people are not concerned with this.

I am getting concerned. It looks like 12 weeks isolation here, but if I can avoid getting it and in turn avoid hospitalisation, then at least that is helping the NHS cope. It sucks, but makes perfect sense right now.
By:

When: 22 Mar 20 20:33
Aspro - 100% spot on.  It's avoiding the strain on the NHS is the biggest obstacle.  It's only matter of days for the army to be on the streets.  That's what we are facing due to others not listening.  Look at the pictures tonight from Spain & Italy with all these makeshift hospital wards in tents and conference centres.

In amongst the Daily Mail's torrent of doom this unfortunately stood out:

"Meanwhile, three junior doctors - all aged 30 - are 'not in a good way' and said to be on ventilators after contracting the bug in the same London hospital."

3 30 year old doctors from one hospital on ventilators isn't a "flu" despite the sh1t you read on here!

Nope, pneumonia isn’t the flu.

Who is at high risk?
You may be at high risk from coronavirus if you:
have had an organ transplant
are having certain types of cancer treatment
have blood or bone marrow cancer, such as leukaemia
have a severe lung condition, such as cystic fibrosis or severe asthma
have a condition that makes you much more likely to get infections
are taking medicine that weakens your immune system
are pregnant and have a serious heart condition

NHS Choices.

Someone I know who suffers from arthritis says she's worried about that one.

More from the journal of doom:
"NHS doctor fights for life: Ear, nose and throat consultant, 52, is on life support amid fears many more medics will catch coronavirus
A senior NHS doctor is fighting for life after being infected with coronavirus , which may have happened during a routine appointment with a patient.
The 52-year-old ear, nose and throat consultant from the Midlands had been 'fit and well' but was last night on a life-support machine."

52, fit and well, and on life support? SurprisedSad

How do you know that isn't sh1t?

Normally, evrything written in the Mail is dismissed as unreliable.

They want the young to stop spreading it, and telling them that they're vulnerable is the best way to make them follow the guidlines.

All porkers, so they can't even look after themselves.

Nurse, 36, fights for life in Walsall hospital after contracting coronavirus

Mother of three Areema Nasreen has worked at the hospital, in which she is now a patient, for 16 years

Mother of three Areema Nasreen, who has no underlying health issues, is critically ill in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Walsall Manor, the hospital in which she has worked for the last 16 years.

Areema first developed symptoms ten days ago, suffering body aches followed by a soaring temperature and cough. Two days ago tests revealed she was positive for the severe respiratory illness.

I thought that you'd assumed that role Just Checking.

You might come across as a little more credible, if you try writing without the foul language and throwing a tantrum every time other poster challenges your remarks.

That is sad news regarding a consultant being in a very poor way. Working for the NHS on the frontline has become mere dangerous than being in British army or a firefighter.

Of course the normal uneducated trolls on here will claim it is flu so we should go to the pub & watch horse racing, or the telecom companies have a secret plan which only the son of God knows about to murder people using electromagnetic waves (which have the power to fool scientists, doctors into thinking it is a virus.)

Wish all the staff in the frontline the best. Not exactly difficult to stay at home for a few weeks & let these experts get on with their jobs of saving lives.

That list from the NHS website I posted above contains those at high risk, which doesn't mean there's no risk for the rest.
It just makes it far more likely that we'll shrug it off.

I say let the dickheads congregate in one area and get sick, drink and smoke to their hearts content
But on the understanding they get no hospital access
