Given that our favourite products may not be freely available, we'll need to be practical and buy what is available.

It's only been a few days, but has anyone purchased a product that they wouldn't normally buy and been pleasantly surprised?
Similarly, has anyone purchased a product that they wouldn't normally buy and been hugely disappointed?

I'm a bit annoyed as I bought curry flavour noodles. Expecting them to taste like curry flavour noodles normally do and they have the EXACT same mistake as supernoodles and stuck horrible horrible aniseed in. THat's not curry, that's liquorice. And I've 2 more packets to eat!
I think I can safely say this has been the worst thing to happen due to coronavirus so far. Globally.

IN BETWEEN buying chicken breasts for a stir fry  frey bentos  steak and onion pie in the wide round time (used to do steak and kidney)

we now own two cheese and onion ones of same style container and one chicken pie

don't they have the horrible pastry I seem to remember - my lady just had to have them as ' it was what they had as children'  she said!!!!!!!!!!!!

my FEAR is supply of beer - currently I have a very good supply
but could ask the brewery to send me a couple 'Nines'   that would keep me floated for a couple of weeks   -  there's going to be  a lot of draymen out of work  - not a nice thought

That's funny how tastest differ, I liked the frey bentos pastry, in fact it's the only thing I liked about them.
If I could buy just the pastry, I'd honestly buy it.

most people have the 'odd' fad  taste or old favourite whether it be good or bad

I remember Cremola Foam - loads of crystals banged into a big glass  - full of deadly stuff  ha ha

burnt fried onions
cashew nuts
Eccles cakes

Took a drive and found an organic farm shop.

Bought ‘vintage cheddar’. Aged for 18-24 months. Made from unpasteurised milk and vegetarian rennet. (Enzymes).

Expensive but it’s fantastic. Because it’s so punchy you don’t need as much or anything added. Wonderful stuff.

One less outlet from tomorrow evening …..

McDonald’s has said it is closing all its UK and Ireland restaurants from Monday night. In a statement, its UK CEO, Paul Pomroy, said: “I am incredibly grateful to our brilliant employees who have been working hard to continue to serve you safely in difficult circumstances.

“Over the last 24 hours, it has become clear that maintaining safe social distancing whilst operating busy takeaway and Drive Thru restaurants is increasingly difficult and therefore we have taken the decision to close every restaurant in the UK and Ireland by 7pm on Monday 23 March.
