some one said first hour in the morning OAPs only, using the freshly cleaned trolleys. could alternate that with essential workers.

we could arm the police with the order 'dont shoot until you see the whites of their eyes'

Iceland was the first supermarket to confirm the change in hours, prompting calls from customers for other grocers to follow suit.

As well as supermarkets, banks have also started dedicating hours to pensioners.

It comes as cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, have jumped to 2,692 in the UK with 137 deaths reported at the time of writing.

Its being done Already , Not made any difference to the rest of us we all need to eat .......

on tv i saw a shop in one of the asian countries and they had a stripe of tape on the floor every two metres, you move forward when the person in front moves forward so keeping distance. i thought we were suppose to be good at queueing, it seems not.

Just been down to loacal Sainsburys. Place was half empty as was car park, could have done a shop if required though would have missed a few things. Was expecting place to be rammed.

Still don't get the run on fresh food though. Going to be a load of 'fresh' stuff bought several days agao flytipped this weekend when it starts going off.

Boots Pharmacy where she works only Pharmacy part from next week , rest of shop closed

Doesnt make sense Kansas ,Was not a bit of Fresh meat in the Shop thursday , must be freezing it
Report kansas March 21, 2020 1:49 PM GMT
Don't know about you Case but I have a fridge freezer, like most households with a couple of kids I suppose, and there is only a limited amount of stuff I can fit into it at any one time.

Took the half-empty Sainsburys to be a indication perhaps people have 'hoarded out' for the time being at least.

Some people are clearly panic buying freezers as well it seems

I think retailers need to get a bit smarter about how they limit customers to two items each.

Eg If you buy two tins each of chicken meatballs, beef meatballs, chilli con carne, 10 different varieties or brands of soup, that will still cause a problem.

Also, you can buy 2 x 4 toilet rolls or 2 x 12.

Why? Unless the empty shelves is a permanent thing at supermarkets eg in North Korea? Just limit one item per product per shopper with great big signs in-store as reminders, and security guards at checkout and door to police.

Only 3 tins permitted at Sainsbury regardless of whether it's tin beans, tin sweetcorn or tin carrots.

'Still don't get the run on fresh food though. Going to be a load of 'fresh' stuff bought several days agao flytipped this weekend when it starts going off'.

NAP landed. Seems Derby is the leading culprit so far, though plenty of boroughs still to return figures
Report moisok March 28, 2020 8:37 PM GMT
it's the returning of plastic bags full of tins to food banks by embarrassed ladies in large range rovers etc that will be worth a SUN expose
