they will be shut after the weekend, there will be outrage after this weekend when get usual trouble in pubs and clubs thus diverting emergency services.

Absolute rubbish.ask one of the 40,000 people he employs if they’d like a job to come back to once the madness is over.
By:
I'm sure his 38,000 workers would prefer he had never been allowed to run a business.
The odious ones are people like you behaving like this at a time of crisis. Your personal hatreds are of little interest to most. |

Sorry BARROWBOY, overlap.

government are trying to make sure him and his employees will get money, have a business to go back to ,trouble with the likes of martin he wants to play both ends of the same fiddle
By:
You hate him anyway, it's in the Guardian manifesto. Why pretend otherwise?
By:
the kooonts just been on sky,on again at 1,30, ian king sky, commercial decision to stay open,no evidence as to virus spreading in pubs
even less evidence as to how this kooont came to this conclusion |
By:
I'm sure Tim Martin will have suggested to his patrons that they keep two yards apart when they sup.
By:
pubs should only allow key workers to have a pint
same as schools (not that schools serve alcohol) |
By:
The government could have closed them down and compensated them, or closing them down may have forced the costs on to insurers. Instead they have merely advised people to avoid them resulting in many having to close for commercial reasons. I don't blame him for carrying on if he can.
By:
blank..reason they are still open is because Insurance companies told Govt they will NOT pay out if Govt closes them down.
By:
So government wants them to go under or close but doesn't want to pay for it. Businesses at this moment still have costs to pay so what do you expect them to do.

Tim looks after his customers.
Which is why he's so successful. |
By:
he is doing nothing wrong, the people going in are the one's going against what boris told them to do
By:
1,01 nap there,ll be attacks on his pbbs this weekend
and a gerrard ratner response in the future |
By:
As long as his customers wash their hands.
Mind you after seeing a few of his customers and catching a whiff, I'd be surprised if some of them ever washed. |
By:
tim martin is the sole reason why bojo hasn't ordered close down like very other country. Tories look after their own.

Let's face it, only poor people go to Wetherspoons. But if they want to put sh1te food, cheap beer and pikey company ahead of their health then good luck to them.
By:
Do they still do fish and chips on a Friday at Wethers?
By:
Fish Friday.

By:
A pint of Abbott ale with fish and chips.
Coronavirus has got no chance against that. |
By:
They'll be ferrying them in ambulances from the hospitals.
By:
Can look sharp with my fish and chips please, only my ambulance is parked on double yellow lines with the engine running.
By:
think so, never tasted there food, been in one few in coventry a few times, usually full of chinese students stuffing there faces with all day breakfasts, (ironically), a disgusting site indeed.
I like their Carling but pubs not good for a day out if you like sport. The one in Blackrock Dublin shows GAA, no sound, cheap drink. |
