Many of us wont have much to do during the coming weeks and months and I for one hope to be entertained by some good films and tv series. I left England at the end of 1996 and until I moved to Thailand 8 years ago, I lost touch a bit and am only now catching up with stuff I'd missed. Someone on here suggested Doc Martin was worth a watch a few months back and I loved it I'm now on series 6 of Line of Duty and again I'm really enjoying it. Since I've been here I've binged on The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Better call Saul among others. Where would we be without the internet? Anyway, I'm sure there are some forgotten gems out there.

Threat title mentions movies, then you go on to provide an array of tv series Grin

Anyway, here are a couple more for you:

Luther - the opening sequence of the opening episode is absolutely brilliant. The rest of the series is pretty damn good too.

Scott & Bailey - I'd only seen bits of this and didn't really pay attention to it, now going through the process of catching up and it is well worth it. Individual episodes are fast moving with a fine balance between chaotic personal lives and outstanding police work.

As for best film of all time, that's easy, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight (massive Nolan fan, all his movies are brilliant).

The Big Short - the most rewatchable movie of modern times for me, I just do not get sick of it. Ever.

All the classic gangster movies - Godfather 1 and 2. Goodfellas. Carlito's Way (under rated). Road to Perdition (CRIMINALLY under rated). The Departed.

Heat & The Town. Similar but love them both.

Die Hard. Watch it every christmas (don't tell me it ain't a christmas movie).

Arrival. A slow burn but totally worth it by the time the credits roll.

Saving Private Ryan.

Haven't seen it for years and it's probably rubbish but I seem to remember loving Angel Heart.

Just to make Angoose happy, I'd better mention some films! Among my favs are Pulp Fiction, Scent of a Woman and like therhino, most of the classic gangster films, I'll add a Bronx Tale to his list. I'm afraid I'm a sucker for a good romcon as well and loved Notting Hill and Sleepless in Seattle.

if you love film its worth payin £4 a month for BFI player

large collection of free film and also pay per view , free collection contains many great films you may not hear of and is updated regular

I found it better than Netflix which contained a load of crap really , like sky , pay for 1000 channels and only watch 6

BFI has some amazing cinema and collections , probably run a free month trial aswell to get you through then ditch if you like

if you want one , watch the nightingale , quite brutal at times but a under the radar cracker

also official secrets (fairly new and great true story )

aniara thought provoking sci fi

2 week free trial 4.99 then if you like cancel , try it, if you like film you wont be disappointed

Report hello :-) March 21, 2020 5:14 PM GMT
no probably not , no superhero movies , blockbusters etc saddo

a lot of films normally under radar , tho get odd classic like The Long Good Friday , stuff like that so worth a nose around

2 weeks free tho cant go wrong l, have a look at the Subscription section they are also free if you take trial , still free after tho pay monthly sub

the free section isn't best , all good stuff rental or in subscription sections
