To be fair, the type of lockdown they have in Italy and Spain isn’t THAT much more than what everyone here was advised to do voluntarily on Monday anyway.
If mondays advise isnt being followed (i dont know if it is or isnt) then the ‘incentive’ to stay indoors is always likely to go up, as UK wont want to be in a worse position than other european countries.
In Italy you can still go to the shop or go to work or go out for exercise, its just all more difficult.

It's not a" lock down ", that's a media word, lock downs happen in high security prisons , it's mass isolation to prevent the spread of a very virulent disease. This way hopefully with increased testing we can get on top of it and see where the problem areas are and how infected certain areas /places/buildings/organisations / ect are, once we know we can see how to proceed, this will slow the spread buy some time and allow a plan to be developed. If people want to get out into the countryside for walks then it's not being discouraged, in fact I would imagine if they don't get out for fresh air and exercise its going to be bad for physical and mental health.Next week or so is going to be cold anyway so good as it will keep most folks indoors but bad as it allows the virus to linger longer. A quick break from cold to warm weather will probably be good, if everyone isolates over next week or 10 days it coukd go a long way to beating this and protecting the vulnerable, Easter holidays also a good timely intervention. We will get through this, health before wealth.
