Got an email from an american friend asking if I was online. Replied Yes then got this message
How are you? Please I need a little favor from you. I'm Unavailable On Phone Right Now
I need to get a PlayStation Gift Card for my nephew, its his birthday today and i totally forgot i can't do this now because I'm currently Traveling. can you help me grab one from any store around you? l'll pay you as soon as i am back. Kindly let me know if you are online.
Asked how much then got
Thank you very much. The total amount i needed is $300 ($100 each in 3 cards) from any store around. You will need to scratch the back of the card to reveal the pin for him, then take a snap shot of it showing the pin and the receipt and have the image attached and sent to me here on my email so i can forward them to him myself with the birthday message. I hope I'm not asking for too much.
Luckily had seen this online and checked email strapline, changes when their conman comes online and my reply isn't to be repeated, might be worth keeping an eye out for this type of plausible scam, stay safe.
Same thing happened to me a week ago, crazy thing was a friend of the sender spoke to me an hour earlier so I replied on another matter & he said his e-mail account had been hacked so ignore it.

To be honest I would always reply that way pumphy but they are becoming more plausible with little of the pigeon English that used too expose such scams in the past.
