Boris Johnson has said renters will be protected from eviction.

Emergency legislation to be brought forward.

Only evict you after the crisis has ended and you are six months in arrears thats something to look forward to.

Nobody will have the finances to take over a tenancy, so whats the point in evictions?

That did occur to me although I wouldn't say nobody will.

i guess it will be like a 6 month form of housing benefit ,so like mortgage holidays what's new ?

i walked into a bank and took a mortgage holiday back in 2004 just so i could pay for some DIY ...  it only postpones what you have to pay later

I can't see there being and 'handouts'

those  who have to self isolate won't bother putting in for SSP as  it's a lot of faffing about ,worth very little and as far as i know takes off 3 days anyway

Will rents drop as tenants won't be able to supply adequate references and landlords won't be able to get insurance to cover missed rent. Or will rents rise as more and more landlords sell up as they need the money.

I think it will be more difficult to sell in the current climate; especially as many prospective buyers might be buy-to-let landlords themselves.

if someone is laid off they get help with HB if they have no savings , no ?
Report Coachbuster March 18, 2020 3:28 PM GMT
one thing you can't have is the govt bailing everyone out   ... they've gone about it the right way with businesses on the whole .

I think in business you have to accept there is an element of luck  ..sometimes for you sometimes against    ...as long as there is some help which there is
