Certain products are being bought in bulk and sold online at ridiculous prices.

I had a message from ebay stating that it is against their rules to profit from emergencies such as the coronavirus outbreak and that listings would be removed  and sellers' status might be downgraded.   (This was a general message, not aimed at me.)

Yet they are still there in abundance.

call people what you like but those stocking up last week on loo roll, hand wash, rice, pasta etc have been proved right
if branson, oliver, dragons den etc had sent teams of people round shops stockpiling goods ,right wing nmedia would be hailing them as heroic entrepeaneurs

People are stockpiling because others are doing the same. I understand that.

What I object to is someone selling hundreds of units of soap, paracetamol, hand gel etc on ebay

IAWN, people are stockpiling because of the fear of catching this further down the line with more infected in public places, they do not want to go in them and increase risk, that more than the actual stuff is what it is about imo.

Buying a long term supply is actually pretty rational. Morally questionable perhaps, but rational. As is trying to make money out of the situation.

I did a huge Ocado order delivered Friday for my Mum who is living alone, in her 70s. I make no apologies for that.

I spent nearly ah hour there waiting in the "virtual queue" with them, their policies re limited items and shopping now left outside are exemplary as a business.

Ocado is a very slick operation. I recommend anyone who uses them to save their future slot early by ordering something over £40. Anything, then edit the order close to the delivery date with what you actually want.
