Library books Happy

I read this thread and was feeling rather smug as I have loads of toilet rolls, tissues, kitchen towels and a full freezer and cupboards.  This is because I only shop online and have it delivered when they send me a voucher, say £9 off £60.  This means, as I live alone, that sometimes I can't make £60 without getting more toilet rolls etc that don't have a shelf life and also it makes me check that I have got everything and more than everything as I won't probably be shopping for a month or two, apart from fruit and veg etc.

So I couldn't think of anything, but then I thought about my library books.  I am allowed 20 at a time and I haven't taken lots back, but now i think to say if the library closes - oh no Sad I know I could buy them, but it seems a waste of money.  I haven't ordered any for a long time as well, getting through the last lot of reservations,  so now I am going to order loads and get organised.

I might add that I have also got loads of books in my 'library' but most of them are 'classics' and non fiction that I am keeping for a rainy day - it could start raining soon.Cry

Sardines in tomato sauce.

At 31p/tin at Lidl, how can anyone afford not to stockpile them?

Also noticed that my garden is stockpiling dandelions for me. So that's incredibly nutritious meat (sardines), fruit (tomatoes), salt (sardines), green vegetables (dandelion leaves), root vegetables (dandelion roots) and poncey stuff (dandelion flowers) all sorted.

4 items per person in the Aldi yesterday.

I was at the checkout and two blokes with beards were behind me with a trolley full of bread.

''I thought this is going to be good.''

A girl ran out and said ''only four items allowed.''

''Two of us two of us,'' came the reply.

The manager came out and started talking to them, answered by ''two of us two of us'' by this time I was almost out the door.

When I got into my car I saw the two ''beards'' walking across the car and jabbering away to each other - empty handed!

That made my day.

Beer!

My. Rotherham is currently in Ireland. He sent a text asking which countries he could get a drink in a pub. I told him England and Ireland! And that he was a dope. Ireland might have closed pubs officially but you can bet your bottom Euro you can get a drink in a country pub where he is thankfully. Do you really think pubs will be shut on Paddys Day?

I couldn't believe the other day when I went to book a delivery slot with Sainsbury's. I usually arrange it on a Sunday night to be delivered on the following Tuesday, but with no football I decided to do it on Saturday, however; nothing was available until Thursday! It made sense in the current climate so I booked my slot on Thursday, but when I went on there today, not only have the next few days been wiped out, but the next few weeks have been fully booked too... there is currently not a single slot available for three whole weeks!

My public library lets me borrow 20, Facts!  I was shocked the first time they told me.

Not only 20, but you can renew them online if you haven't read them by the due date. I also reserve them online for 60p each and when you consider how much they can cost when the hardback comes out, it is a bargain.  That reminds me, I must reserve the latest Hilary Mantel!

I must admit that has crossed my mind, Ramruna Sad

I was in Lidl this afternoon for some bananas, high energy bread (much cheaper/tastier) and Easter eggs. As I was walking past an aisle I did not need one of the staff restocking toilet rolls caught my eye; it was Cushelle 24 roll-pack. Obviously I bought one (limited to one per customer), and felt extremely embarrassed as I walked home with it (I did not take the car); the look I got from passers-by/other shoppers that I eventually went into a shop for bin bags to hide them, but not before another shopper asked where I'd got them.

The meat display were 3/4 empty; no pasta or rice; very limited bread; even biscuits and ice-cream were over bought. I've never seen/witnessed anything like that. I think it ought be be deemed unlawful to panic-buy.

I hope the barstewards who panicked-buy deserve what karma is upon them.
