,,,it aint going to be pretty. It's not like it's the 60's with loads of hospital beds, plenty of safe housing and more than generous working conditions - your generation has seen to that. Combine that with the dwp basically being run on a skeletal staff and run with a quick turnover in mind, not being fit for a sudden influx, then the country really is in for a shock even if things don't turn out that bad. Nowt to do with brexit or corona but what has been going on for the last 10 years and it was always going to happen at some point, lets hope it isn't too bad but mortgage relief aint no good if one is a renter!

I'm not sure how mortgage relief is going to be much help to anyone in so much as it's merely a deferment.
If your catering firm is suffering a downturn in business, that's money you're never going to recover. |

Benefits might have been more generous in real terms for the last few years of the last Labour Govt when they were borrowing and overspending to do so. This is unlikely to happen again in the next 20 years when we are all going to have to get used to a slightly lower standard of living.

Luckily during this "austerity" NHS spending went up year by year and has recently had another big boost.

a few issues sort of addressed - Universal Credit/DWP pretty close to collapse and it's still early..........
