...... about the creation of the planets in our Solar System.

I wonder what else we'll find out that they have been wrong about, in years to come......?

Could you put a link up Mecca????

Scientists may be wrong about everything...

But do not blame them, they the cleverest people we have...

Science can only progress one step at a time...also look the distances involved, the time scales.

I have found it on teletext

The established view is that material violently crashed together to form even larger clumps until they become Worlds.

New results suggest the process was less catastrophic with matter gently clumping together instead

I do not know what ramifications this discovery will have, we shall have to wait and see

Most people go through life guessing.
Scientists aren't any different.

Invent a reason for something, build a case around your guess, and if it sounds good with enough people taken in they'll give you the Nobel prize.

Scientists reckon the moon was passing through, then stopped and been with us ever since.

Without it’s gravitational pull keeping us at 23 degrees we’d be dead.

I know this may sound a little pedantic , but without the Moons gravitational pull we'd never have been here in the first place . Something cannot be 'dead' if it never existed at all , it simply would never have been alive Cool

I think I was suggesting we’d be in a pickle if the Moon went for a wander..

Thalidomide drugs for deformed children, organic phosphates causing suicides in farming, mass removal of children in Middlesborough based on scientific evidence of Marietta Higgs. We are right to retain an element of scepticism when lemmings are all rushing in one direction.

I think it's common sense to see that a slow coming-together is more likely than a fierce smashing-together.  In the latter, the objects would break down into smaller components.  Easy does it.

So little chance of Uranus having its back doors smashed in then ? Mischief

Mecca

What exactly did "the scientists " get wrong for 60 years. I didn't even know there was a global agreement of scientists regarding the creation of the planets.
The "old school " theory was loads of debris orbiting the sun , gradually "clumping " together by gravity. Not read the new article- is this theory now considered incorrect.

Good news that scientists continue to observe & speculate based on evidence. I guess that is their "job" to look at evidence.

Too many people around today don't bother about evidence but actually believe they know "the truth " because a man on you tube told them.

Scientists are only as good as their individual funding allows them to be. Many wont understand that and others will refuse to believe it. Crazy

If the pay master says the sky is pink but it appears blue then that is settled. Silly

Mex throws in the youtube goggly as he actually still believes in the MSM despite ALL OF THE EVIDENCE telling him to forego that miscomprehension. You cannot make it up Laugh

Thank you John & Henry for once again adding nothing to the thread.

How exactly do your posts relate to how the planets were formed?

How were the planets formed then Terry if you know so much about the subject. I'm interested to know what the scientists got wrong for 60 years.

Terry you are uneducated and completely lack any critical thinking abilities. Who is the "we" you refer to?  Are you the official spokesman of the Betfair forum idiots club?

What have the scientists got to say about the astounding revelation (by lefty cretin 'progressives', Guardian 'journalists' and imbecilic police forces) that men in full possession of their wedding tackle are actually women?

This must surely have rocked the world of science. Why have they not told us about this before? They've only had millions of years to do so.

Although to be fair to the scientists, their guesses are as good as anyone else's.

And for all those who believe their GPs know best in common cases of chronic illness- keep taking the tablets.

Please do not use any adjectives, belittling or not, when seeking to refer to me. Please simply refer to me as "edy", nothing in front, nothing following. I find it insulting and bullying. Thank you for being a considerate and grown up individual.

It is remiss of the good Doctor to call you little edy without asking your permission first but only a matter of etiquette surely. I think he uses it as a term of endearment.

In the same spirit of friendship between fellow Europeans, may I call you Fritzchen?

Thanks edy. Did you know that the head of the Nantes Abwehr Stephan von Gröning called Eddie Chapman, his British agent, Fritzchen? He had the highest regard for him and they remained friends after the war even though Eddie turned out to be a double agent.

God rolled the cue ball up behind the yellow for a snooker instead of trying to pot a long range red.
Get out of that scientists.
