A tortoise could be out in gale-force winds and cope alright because of its aerodynamic shaped shell which also offers protection if something was to blown onto it, sleep may be disturbed though. Not sure how it would get on in a flood, could possibly float.

I was going to say, anything that can hibernate. Also a bird that can fly to the Med. in a few hours for free.
