Nish Kumar was the star turn on Friday at a ‘Brexit and Comedy’ panel discussion in central London.

He was keen to talk about his notorious performance at the Lord’s Taverners, last December, when he was enthusiastically heckled by members of the crowd. A bread-roll was thrown at him.

‘People said I was “pelted” with rolls. I wasn’t pelted. It was one bread roll. Like if someone said, “it’s pelting with rain” and you went outside and got hit by one rain-drop …’

The cause of his poor reception was, of course, white intolerance.

‘This is what happens when an audience is descended from people who colonised my country.’

He also claimed to be the victim of right-wing racist conspiracies. ‘I’m a triple threat to them. Brown dude, left-wing, BBC.’ Citing Andrew Neil and Piers Morgan he said, ‘the abuse is co-ordinated by very high-profile right-wing commentators. These f**kers cannot take a joke.’

Blimey he thinks he's public enemy number 1.

Our beloved Nish is at his funniest when he is not trying to be funny.

He doesn't tell jokes. Does he talk about anything else but Brexit and Trump?
A tedious non-entity. Wish he'd bore off.

He's entitled to his opinions, but who cares what he thinks. Could he merely be soliciting for publicity or attention? We're all entitled to our opinions...within reasons, and the law.

Nearly every comedian who appears on TV has lost approximately half their former audience since aligning themselves against brexit voters. As a business model this is unsustainable.

Tiresome chaiwalla.

I wouldn't be interested in any programme with him in it.

His twitter feed is an example of his current unpopularity.

Some superb comments!

He’s asking people to buy tickets to the ‘fringe of colour’ comedy night. When will this identity politics/comedy end??

40 years ago he'd have been scraping a living in working mens clubs simply because he's not funny. Should pray to the lord god BBC every day.

He also said:

‘In the last five days I’ve basically been told to go back to where I came from … which is Wandsworth.’

So ‘my country’ is both Britain and somewhere else, depending on whether he's a backer or layer in the 'Victimhood Handicap'
