The global record last month was 0.03C above the preceding warmest January, also in 2016.
For Europe, last month was "about 0.2C warmer than the previous warmest January in 2007, and 3.1C warmer than the average January in the period 1981-2010," C3S reported. Records also tumbled in specific locations across the northern reaches of the continent. The village of Sunndalsora in western Norway, for example, hit 19C (66 Fahrenheit) on January 2, more than 25C above the monthly average, while the Swedish town of Orebro saw its warmest January day on the 9th since records began in 1858. Cross-country ski tracks were closed across large swathes of Norway and Sweden. Exceptional above-average temperatures extended over nearly all of Russia as well, and they were higher than normal over much of the United States, eastern Canada, Japan and parts of eastern China. |

Coldest day in New Delhi recorded a few weeks ago.
Remember they changed it to 'climate change' rather than 'global warning' so that they could hedge their bets as they coin it on. |

Any data from the previous 300 years though ? The climate continuosly changes , no one in their right mind disputes that .. What those with s sane mind do object to is the nonsense that is spouted about global warming climate change climate emergency etc etc etc.. Its all a plie of al gore propaganda shoite and all we are now waiting for is THE CLIMATE TAX

Feb going the same way, I can count on my fingers how many days frost I've seen this winter, no more than 5 and no snow at all, unbelievable really and I live in N Ireland so probably south of England has probably seen little or no frost.

"Britain braces itself for one of the coldest winters in 30 years" |

For years now,the BBC no matter how sh1tty the summer was,it was like the 3rd hottest on record and id think what? But I hardly got out into the garden because of the rain and the temp was cool. Had I missed something? And then it dawned on me,they were making it up for what ever reason. Now I couldn't care less what these bastatds say, this winter had NOT been any warmer than any other but they would say that to fit their agenda.Ive even told you Hello that what they would say and yet you still fall for it.
|
|
By:
previous hottest January was 2016
nobody can surely deny its getting warmer in general so whether its a natural cycle or climate is really unimportant , only what can be done |
|
By:
you cant judge world temp from your garden terry
ive seen frost and a little snow , these were isolated days while in general where temp should be 3/4/5 it was actually 8/9 most of winter its actually getting ridiculous that people still deny the changes tbh , its worldwide climate or natural cycle who knows , the changes are real tho |
|

So how come besides having to scrap ice off the car early morning, people are going around in heavy coats, hats, the bloody lot if its so warm-monumental boll0cks.Maybe you are housebound Hello but if and when you go out you notice the extra heat for this time of year do you? Its a bloody joke and last night sleeping it was noticeable cold when I got up for a pee.

Bet you didn't look up HAARP as you are so worried?

And why believe the very people that lie to us about everything?
|
|
By:
no terry I do venture out on occasions
![]() of course its quite cold mate its early feb , as you would expect its just not as cold as it should be just like there is hot and burning hot there is cold and freezing |
|
By:
The weather is perfectly normal in England for the time of year so they can tell me till they are blue in the face(with the cold) but its not the warmest Jan on record and if you agree with that you must be very gullible.
|
|
By:
I fully expect that February 2020 will be declared as the warmest February 2020 on record.

Heard someone the other day blaming the fires in Australia on 'climate change'.
These people have no shame. In other news, Telsa now has a market cap of more than twice the value of GM and Ford combined. |

Looking forward to a nice hot summer.no need to go flying to Spain anymore

terry you're a maniac ...seriously what prt of the UK do you live ?
there has been no frost ,snow ,any serious cold ...it's 10c and sunny today more typical of mid March ...and as i've said before early spring flowers are out in most gardens . I don't belive you live in England as no location even Stoke on trent ,the Pennines and Derbyshire (the areas most likely to see frost ) has seen much in the way of frost . most Southern coastal areas are totally frost free |
|
By:
try looking at places in parts of eastern France and Germany that get some decent cold winters more often and not and you will see 10c and 9c .
what is wrong with you ? |
|
By:
yes I seen the bush fires , almost all hadn't seen anything like it before
a billion animals birds reptiles gone , with far more to follow as habitats and food gone many species now extinct planet has never seen anything like that before |
|
By:
will the soot from the bush fires lead to some short term cooling?
longer term the co2 will be a problem, but bush fires have always happened, ...any research to suggest they are a long term driver of climate change ? |
|
By:
hello, 2019 was probably the driest on record in Australia and thus one of the the reasons the fires were so bad.
But the decade before that has been one of the wettest on record (look at 2010 and 2011).... http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/history/rainfall/ Interesting how the 'climate change' lobby pick and choose their numbers. Somewhere in the world a record will always be broken. |

now stick one up of Australia's temperatures over the last 100 years and i bet there is a 1 to 2c increase

That was to counter the nonsense spouted by those profiting from the old 'climate change' stuff.
Of course these people will not tell you that earth has always had 'climate change' from ice ages to times when the Arctic Ocean was 23 degrees C. |

terry you're a maniac ...seriously what prt of the UK do you live ? Rampton, Broadmoor, Cloud Cuckoo Land - take your pick. |

nobody denies the ice ages, except perhaps creationist nutters

Johnny do you believe this January has been the warmest one you have ever known? Honestly come on!
|
|
By:
Difficult to say Terry. I've read some people saying that they've barely had to scrape ice off of their cars, but as I have someone to do that for me I wouldn't really know.
|

Coach I was up in Lincolnshire yesterday and it was bloody freezing, cold wind man and yet you guys are telling me different.
You guys agree its the warmest Jan youve ever known right? |

Scientists remind me of people who thought football started with the Premier League!
‘Warmest on record’ to today’s scientists means since 1850 at the earliest. More likely 1980 when you read some of their data. |
|
By:
terry ,i went out yesterday and felt like Scott of the Antartic ...it was perishing cold in that biting wind ... it's the coldest i've felt outside since around 1992 .
now back to the rest of the winter ![]() |

Scientists remind me of people who thought football started with the Premier League!
______________ football has always been around, but the quality has improved substantially with the PL although obviosly it wasn't from 1992 exactly ,it was a gradual process |

By:
terry ,climate boffins some years ago (10-12) predicted that by 2018 east anglia would take on more of a south west england climate ...that is very mild winters and cooler summers ,and also a bit cloudier .
UK generally cloudier summers and milder winters They also said places like Paris with an oceanic climate similar to London would take on a more semi- meditteranean type climate ,with the near continent getting sunnier hotter summers . they were correct on the lot ...this is why we are getting cloudier summers and Paris/Bonn/Frankfurt/Warsaw etc are getting hotter summers ...climate change |
|
By:
also those near continental cities are now getting mild winters
