Its not so much the flu itself , its how much its travelled

added to fact its only contagious during incubation stage so signs of having it are not visible till you have probably spread it

the next week will be telling , doing all they can to contain tho and we are well informed

10% ? Thought the latest estimates were 2/3%,certainly less than 5%,most of those deaths would be down to a pre existing condition too.

Yeah it does seem like mortality rate is 2-3%.

The Black Death in the 1340s had a mortality rate of 50% and didn't end civilization.

You are being over-dramatic. There's been many pandemics/epidemics over the years which have been a tad unpleasant. My guess is that these days a vaccine will be found soon.

That's not really accurate at the moment. It will be higher than that. Only about 2-3% of the contracted cases have died so far but most people who have contracted it will still have it.
