Errol Graham, 57, weighed four-and-a-half stone (28.5kg) when his body was found by bailiffs who broke into his Nottingham council flat to evict him.
If he needed help Sectioning the Police should be breaking in Not Bailiffs ![]() |

it just goes to show we don't know what's going on behind closed doors. we lived in a closed door society and some people cannot open that door out of pride or shame or whatever it is. the benefits system is definitely broken and unfortunately it's due to too many people abusing it
the question has to be though, how did his family let him get like that. if they cared at all it wouldn't have happened. it's not always the government's fault, they're faceless. you can't always blame "the system" - because the system is just a system, it's a mechanism. it's going to fail sometimes like anything sadly he was failed not only by the government's system but by his own family and that's the real tragedy but it seems like his pride would not let him ask for help or admit that he was struggling and he literally starved to death from his inability to show weakness unfortunately, money is not always going to solve a person's problems. some things run deeper than that. family is more important than money and this bloke had neither by the sounds of it |

If I were a member of his immediate family, I'd be way too ashamed to say anything to the media.
|
|
By:
They may be in no better state than he is, did he have any immediate family?
Now we are leaving Europe, we should be able to control immigration So perhaps allocate a little more money to mental health and social services |
|
By:
his family have spoken to media tho im not sure how close they are or how immediate
they are likely to be in there own nightmare who knows all I know is that it sound like this guy had been battling years with system , why did it let him down so badly when they knew about him and someone knew he was without income for months they should be made to go without food for a few days , nev mind months shower of barstewards |

My sister passed away last year, while in hospital for heart treatment she lost 9 kg in 6 weeks to weigh 6 stone, when challenged the staff said she didn't like the food and left it.Discharged into a care home for assessment and she put all that back on because the nursing staff CARED and made sure she ate her meals. It's not all about money.

Sad story.
If you think that's bad, check this one out, absolutely staggering, I keep thinking to myself, why, just why are people so evil. What is wrong with some humans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cUkt2mBwR0 |

Thanks UBLE, I think injera has the solution, get away from this degree lark preventing caring but unacademic staff on the wards. A senior member of nursing staff called sister (!) supervising staff that sit on their computers most of the time instead of being out on the wards talking and engaging with patients might also help.

By:
but if you have a degree in using these things why not use them rather than deal with nasty smelly old people
we are literally going down the drain you see nasty old smelly people like me don't go along with all the uni pc trash they will have inculcated these nurses with no wonder they would rather be on their computers |

Two years ago I regularly pushed an old boy up the road in his wheelchair, from the homeless shelter to his begging spot, or back again. He'd regale me with tales of how successful his son was.
It was hard to resist the urge to ask: why isn't he here for you now then? why doesn't he buy you one of those electric wheelchairs? I've not seen this chap in over a year so perhaps he has gone to live with his son, though I fear it is more likely he has died. To be honest he was a pita. But then I do not see my family from one year to the next. It's not like Eastenders where families live in each other's pockets, or even spend all evening talking to the grandkids on Skype. |
