About Mustard TV
Mustard TV was a regional TV station that was in operation for a little over three years between March 2014 and August 2017. The TV station was based in Prospect House, Norfolk, and caters exclusively to viewers in Norwich and its surrounding regions. The channel was broadcasted on Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin Channel 159 for five hours a day from 5.30pm to 10.30pm. At its peak, Mustard TV’s broadcast reached over 400,000 people in Norwich. Mustard TV was a fully-owned subsidiary of Archant Limited.

During the launch period, circa 24 March 2014, Mustard TV held four high impact promotion campaigns headlined with its tagline, “Must See TV”, to raise awareness of the channel among its target demographic within its broadcast area.

Why was it named Mustard TV?
One of the original founders of Archant Limited was Jeremiah Colman (1830 – 1898), the same person behind the famed Colman’s Mustard. The people of Archant liked the quirky name, especially since the unique taste of mustard helps to make food just a little bit more interesting. It possibly was a metaphor of sorts about how Mustard TV can make the life of its viewers richer and more fulfilling.

Colman’s Mustard serves as the inspiration behind the naming of Mustard TV.
