If you didn't see the programme, it's worth a watch. I worked for a decade on these ill advised 'smart' motorways and can't remember talking to anyone who didn't think they were a tragedy waiting to happen. The hard shoulder was always a dangerous place, but removing them was madness. Just some advice, if you are unfortunate enough to break down on the motorway, get out of your vehicle immediately, get behind the barrier and stand twenty or more metres behind the breakdown.

Lives don't matter coops because Smart Motorways are tied into 5G and driverless cars which the BBC failed to mention-surprise.As its 5G they are still out there working on it 7 days a week.

The guy who thought it up tried to explain it by professing that 'smart' motorways only cost 20% of the other options. Hundreds of millions have been spent on them so far and there are another 300 miles planned.

Now you would have hoped they would stop work on it but the same old hold up on M27 today.Foreign looking gentlemen doing God know what in the middle of east and west travelling transport.Notice some drivers were giving them the fingerAngry
