Obviously not members of the Sikh community otherwise dear old aunty would have been lightning quick to emphasise the fact .

So that narrows it down to Hindus , Christians , Jews , Bhuddists , Scientologists or that other group of ne'er-do-well's that occasionally feature in similar news items

One day people would have the brains to stop listening to the BBC. Clearly whatever crap they feed people today is not reason enough to stop watching. Or maybe they've dumbed down their viewers enough that they can't figure it out.

That depends on your definition of "much". In 2018, there were a total of 3,819 registered "mere" threats with guns, an additional 4,524 registered illegal shots (this includes destruction of objects and stuff). 109 of the registered shots were crimes against life. Of those, 45 were murder crime (24 of which were survived), 57 Totschlag (which is basically German judicial speak for trying to kill someone without having planned it beforehand - 41 of the 57 attempts were survived), and 5 on demand killings were registered with guns.

So if you were asking for (completed) gun killings - 42 in 2018. There are, however, quite a few guns in German households. Not super easy to get, but you can get them if you want. There's also, especially in Southern Germany, a bit of a gun club (Schützenverein) tradition. Basically, clubs that are dedicated to training with guns, knowing your way around guns, that sorta stuff. It's usually a very responsible thing. It's not gun crazy maniacs in these clubs. Sadly, from time to time, these people do however end up using their training with guns, and their access to guns, to murder other people. Like happened today when Adrian S. decided to murder six of his relatives in his father's restaurant.

Nobody, me included, is asking everyone to portray "outpourings of grief". If you don't care at all, that is absolutely perfectly fine with me. I merely think polluting it with ridicule is uncalled for. There's thousands of other threads on this forum where we have the chance to display our immature personalities.

This guy had a sports license for a shooting gun. He killed his family. I don't give a fk. People die every day. But you could see from the way the thread started that people wished this was a terrorist attack.

Obviously the print media very tight on the identity of the family except that they were german citizens. Could still be a family from the clan. Bild has the mental illness angle covered. So stay tuned.

I do give a very big damn sadly. 10 years of tory rule; massive cuts to health care, social service, police and our courts has led to the inevitable increases in infant mortality, poor treatment of the elderly, our prisons full of mentally ill patients, our jails creaking at the seams and our courts functioning at their lowest levels ever.

But some people would prefer to bury their heads in the sand, be good little sheeple and blame it all on the brown man at the bottom of the road.
