Well I hope it is Media Hysteria...otherwise we should shoot down any plane that has been near China, before they land here
Are the Chinese finally paying for all the garbage they pump into their own airspace?....if that proves to be the case we will never stop
hearing about climate change and clean air

yes no need to worry we are taking strong preventive measures ,when the plane landed here from china the passengers were handed leaflets telling them what to do if they had the symptons .

I think it's prudent to ban any Chinese national coming into the country for at one month, and that includes students to be absolutely safe - it's also justified. I believe this virus is due to the lack of hygiene in handling and transporting of animal livestock. Also, it could have been avoided if the necessary lessons had been learnt from the previous occurrence of a similar virus.
Anyone eating Chinese takeaway or in Chinese restaurant? It's friday - fish and chip night.

Diabetes kills more per hour than this virus has in the week since it broke ffs
Its a virus so it will weaken and die within the next few weeks, esp when it travels to colder climes, because a virus needs humidity and heat to mutate and strengthen

Wont last in the UK anyways, to cold and damp so the virus will be much weaker here. It'll basically become a slightly worse version of the flu at its peak, might kill a few of the oldens off with it being winter but wont kill more than 5 is my guess.

Cancer isn't infectious. Treating it seriously in the media stops it spreading (even if the risk, because of the precautions taken, is minimal). The Spanish flu killed between 1.5% and 3% of the world's population

The mentality of some posters here beggars belief.
A potentially deadly virus spread thro human contact and breathing is not considered big news by some just because our climate is perceived to be different to China(Wuhan) thus not conducive to further spread.

Early last year,March time I noted folks with a very dry horse cough, the dry horsness cough seemed to disappear but there was lots of people with strange viral type symptoms that lingered throughout the summer and many, myself included could not shake it off. Then late in the year august/Sept a horrible flu like virus swept through, worst I have ever felt with flu, it was headache, sore bones, with a throat like a dragon that quickly got into the upper chest, most folks I know had it, took a good six weeks to shake.Find it too much of a coincidence that now we have a new strain of a flu like virus on the board. Suspect the amount of flooding and hurricanes ect around the world combined with large amounts of refugees living in camps on the edge of central Europe in unhygienic cramped conditions all have played a part, its been in the post for a while. As for info on this exact strain it's a bit stetchy, virus life outside the body seems to be an unknown. Here in Scotland with direct flights from uk although you can fly anywhere in China with stops and changeovers so no doubt many many chances of the virus being round the world and back many times over.Anyone orederd a Chinese tonight?

Also a coincidence that China are a main enemy of the current status quo power structure?
Also of a sudden travel to and from there might be getting paused?
I still think its being hyped up for whatever purpose it serves

Researchers now estimate that about 11 million people worldwide died with sepsis in 2017 alone — that's about 20% of all deaths. A medical condition that often escapes public notice may be involved in 20% of deaths worldwide, according to a new study. The disease is sepsis — sometimes called blood poisoning
