His father thanked those who helped, saying 'more than 1,000' looked for him , police , fire, Search and rescue volunteers and helicopter .
The boy was found near Newbolt Close, a ten-minute walk and half a mile away from the service station where he disappeared.
Mirror Online that his son was on the same trip and had been visiting the Museum of London.

i escaped from school one day, aged about six, went to old ladies house that i knew as her dog was poorly and i was worried. went home about 5pm after almost a whole day there.
dog was ok, school, parents worried and i guess i was watched after that.

school will doubtless learn from their errors

I had that dilemma last summer, walking to the fish and chip shop. The other way came two young children, a 3- or 4-year old boy with his 2yo brother running to keep up, and wearing only a nappy, and no sign of any parents. They were obviously lost but what would their parents, or the police, think if they saw them being led by a strange man after I'd caught the boys?
Cowardice won out and I let them pass, and stood and watched, feeling guilty, then set after them until they were stopped by a woman pruning her roses. Back on the way to the fish and chip shop I saw a woman looking anxious, and gestured two children and when she nodded, pointed mum in the right direction.
All worked out in the end. The family was reunited and I avoided being beaten up by a half-cut mob of self-righteous nonce-hunters. Luckily the gardening woman was made of sterner stuff.

it is a shame we didn't have this concern over rotherham and 20 other towns and cities
where was the child protection there
oh sorry we must not upset one particular community
but then there's several million votes to consider
