I haven't watched QT for ages but did stumble across it last night and it confirmed why I stopped watching it. Allegedly the program was from Liverpool, but unless everyone has lost their accent in Liverpool it could have been anywhere down south. The only guest that could string a few sentences together and came across ok was the SNP politician, even though I disagree with his politics. It's safe to say I won't be tuning in anytime soon!

That jacket was frankly ghastly and you could hear the button clank on the desk every couple of minutes, must have driven the sound engineer mental

On being called out [by irritating fellow panellist Shami Chakrabati] for choosing a man, rather than one of the four female candidates to be the next leader of the Labour party:

“Oh it’s not about women. Jeepers creepers. Sorry. Let me rewind. [Looking sarcastically at Chakrabati] Any of the women. Because it’s really important what gender you are rather than what your politics are…”

Priceless.

Ooh there's a twist.... Turns out the race baiter in the audience is Rachel Boyle a lecturer in race and ethnicity.

She's appeared on the sofa on BBC Breakfast as a newspaper reviewer.

Actors are being called on to “unequivocally denounce” Laurence Fox, after he became in embroiled in a race row during an appearance on BBC1’s Question Time.

Equity’s minority ethnic members committee described his words on the programme as “disgraceful playing to the gallery” and labelled him a “disgrace to our industry”.

The comments come after Fox addressed comments made by Question Time audience member Rachel Boyle, who said the Duchess of Sussex had been the victim of racism. “Let’s be really clear about what this is, let’s call it by its name – it’s racism. She’s a black woman and she has been torn to pieces,” Boyle said.

Fox responded by saying: “We’re the most tolerant, lovely country in Europe. It’s not racism. It’s so easy to just throw your charge of racism at everybody and it’s really starting to get boring now.”

When Boyle described him as “a white privileged male” he replied: “I can’t help what I am, I was born like this, it’s an immutable characteristic, so to call me a white privileged male is to be racist — you’re being racist.”

Responding to the exchange, the minority ethnic committee said it was “extremely disturbed” that Fox had been given a platform to “berate and bully women of colour attempting to discuss issues of race and gender discrimination”. It went on to describe Fox as a “disgrace to our industry” and said he had “occupied a highly advantaged position”, but added that he had appeared to “damn any recognition of that privilege as the very racism he claims is exaggerated when people of colour try to discuss it”.

The committee used its Twitter account to claim he was guilty of “a disgraceful playing to the gallery, a populist tirade, with women of colour being used as cannon fodder”. “We call on all Equity members to unequivocally denounce Laurence Fox and his comments,” it added.

You must know all you have to do is play the race card to win an argument.  Just wait for the demographic shift and see how they think about it all then.

That statement says far more about the “ethnic actors minority committee” than it does about Laurence Fox.
He will get work because he’s a talented actor.
Talented actors of all colours will get work
Most of their work will come from producers, so fed up of the committees, they will employ a few tokens just to shut them up.

He was absolutely spot on and I hope he doesn't now back down. On a side note, it's the first time I've seen him outside of Lewis - he must of stole a living in that as he comes across exactly the same as the character he plays, meaning he hadn't needed to properly 'act'.

This why political correctness has to be buried once and for all..Sad

Sex attacks on young girls by Asian grooming gangs were ignored by police for fear of stoking racial tensions, a damning report has ruled.

A chief inspector from Rotherham was found to have admitted South Yorkshire Police force turned a blind eye to the harrowing cases of abuse, which he referred to as 'P*** shagging'.

The unnamed senior police officer said: 'With it being Asians, we can't afford for this to come out,' according to the Times, which has seen an advanced copy of the Independent Office for Police Conduct's five-year investigation.

This is massive but I can't find it on the BBC... Instead, highlighting their priorities, they carry this story on their headline page:

The voice actor who plays the Indian character Apu in The Simpsons has said he is stepping down from the role, following years of controversy. But the character has been accused of reinforcing racial stereotypes.

A mixed-race university lecturer accused of being racist by the white actor Laurence Fox has been bombarded with hate messages via social media, she has told the Observer.

Rachel Boyle, a researcher on race and ethnicity at Edge Hill University in Lancashire, clashed with Fox during a TV discussion about the press’s treatment of the Duchess of Sussex.

Since the row, Boyle, 39, says she has received a barrage of online abuse, mainly from people who appear to be of the alt right, via Twitter and email.

“At this stage I’m not worried but I’m going to monitor it closely,” she said. But positive responses to her appearance on BBC Question Time on Thursday far outweigh the abuse and she would “absolutely” make the same points again, she adds.

Playing the racist card and the victim card.
