detectorists was dry, not a "comedy" really, more a story about male friendship and the idiosyncrasies of english life. a very enjoyable series to spend time with. liked it

Quite correct masta, I'm Irish, went to a wedding years ago in Wem in Shropshire, this show reminds me on that,albeit other side of country. Everything that's good about England is encapsulated in this show.

'Mum' is another very good piece of observational comedy, though terribly poignant in parts.

have enjoyed this show and hope it continues . over the xmas holidays with loads of shyte on tv i started watching those old "play for todays "on youtoob , some excellent plays with superb acting and actors from the 60s and 70s . some real gritty northern plays ,reccomended watching !
