I'm currently doing that

i do too in the pub as i know it irritates people.

I have arthritis in my neck so wear a scarf a lot these days. It is cheaper than turning on any heating.

I think any person's wish to dress the way they like is way more important than some ignorant people's impression who don't understand that the purpose of a fashion accessory is to complement your looks and outfit and that it keeping you warm is a secondary function.

You never mentioned what the problem with wearing it indoors is?

I'm currently indoors wearing my scarf and sunglasses with my polo shirt collar turned up and no socks.

I didn’t think it would be something any of the chitchatterati would do.
As a rule though scarves are widely considered to be for outside wear but hey times change.
I really shouldn’t have started this thread it was bound to offend/irritate someone.
TBH I thought I was going for a soft target, something the forum would agree on and laugh about but now I feel very shallow.

I don't know why people are assuming I wear scarves. I don't wear them at all. I just find it odd when people find something wrong with other people's clothing knowing fully well that times change and so do people and their choice of clothing. Initially I thought this was a generational thing you were pointing out but you didn't say anything in the thread description.

Slightly different thing but like Prince Andrew, I hardly sweat and don't feel warm at all. Hence I never take off my pullover or any layer I have when im indoors. And when someone asks me isn't it warm I have to wonder if they are stupid or if they think I don't have the brains to realize I am feeling hot and would be a great idea to take off my sweater etc.
