Was it last year BBC’s big showpiece was the Agatha Christie thing with John Malkovich?

It was crap, the lefty screenwriter butchered the story to reflect his / her anti Brexit views.
Pause Switch to Standard View Anything decent on telly this Christmas?

'Hampstead' was on the other day. Diane Keaton and Brian Gleeson. VERY gentle film - ideal watching after a big meal.

BBC1:

Two animated films on Christmas day.

Queen's Christmas message at three o'clock.

Several repeats, including three best weather forecast of 2019.

All in all, the usual tripe from the BBC.
Report i_agree_with_nick December 21, 2019 5:47 PM GMT
Aren't they showing a repeat of 'The Two Ronnies' at 9.30pm?

That might be ok if it was at 10am but at peak viewing time?

I've never watched any of their shows.

Nothing I want to watch there apart from Not Going Out which I'll probably watch when it's first broadcast.

Why couldn't the BBC do a Peaky Blinders Christmas special this year?

Christmas with the Peaky Blinders.

Arthur putting out the candles on the Christmas cake with a machine gun.
Then Polly breaks wind while Tommy sets light to it and blows the front of the house off.

Why don't they put on family stuff like that?
Peaky Blinders is about the decent programme they've put on all year.

who actually watches live TV these days ?

I don't know anyone who does
Report i_agree_with_nick December 21, 2019 6:10 PM GMT
It must just be me. I only have the Freeview channels and watch about 12 hours TV a week and I don't want to watch any more.
Report Dr Crippen December 21, 2019 6:22 PM GMT
There are three animated films on BBC1 Christmas day, not two.

I don't know how they get away with it, isn't their a watchdog for television to stop them ripping off license fee payers?
The BBC are a disgrace.

An estimated 200,000 elderly people will probably spend xmas alone in the UK, what would you like them to do if they are home alone on xmas day then ?
