I don't watch sport and this is the first I'd heard of this, I can't think why it's taken so long. Why can women not compete with men at snooker also? They should get to aim at big pots if good enough.

They have saddo. They just haven't been good enough. The difference with darts is the top girls are good enough. There's a young 15 year old girl called Beau Greaves who is 4th favourite for the Women's World Championships. She's arguably as good as any 15 yo boy and she's the one that could really break through
There is a qualifying school for the main PDC circuit in January and women certainly entered that last year. Lisa Ashton won 13 games out of 17 in that but didn't qualify. I suspect she got very close. The BDO is in a right mess atm. They wanted to charge the Dutch to hold ranking tournaments and the Dutch quite rightly told them to feck off and didn't hold their showpiece event in December. Whilst the WDF has also told them to feck off. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the last BDO World Championship. BDO = Socialism PDC = Capitalism It's time for the PDC to step in and hold a women's circuit. |

The dart boards used today are a joke
They've widened the treble and double beds and the wiring is like tinfoil bedded underneath the treble and double beds  Check out the boards from say 1987/88/89, the wiring is thick and the beds look a lot smaller |

You are right. John Lowe's 9 darter back in the day was so much harder. I think the new dart board is better. Less bounce outs, a better spectacle, and easier for your pub players and newbies to actually get a double, or a treble.

It shouldn't be easy though, these averages are only what they are because of the pathetic design None of this lot could play on the 1980s boards. Can't follow darts nowadays its been overtaken by beta males and their girlfriends |

Also modern day players don't have 10 stone of overweight around their girth! Best not to go back to the old days imo, although the characters were great. RIP Eric and Jocky

It's great that they are pushing women's darts. The thing that I'll miss is that political correctness will prevent colourful characters like Eric and Jocky.
