Staggering figure,report says the figure in NI is more accurately reflected than the rest of the UK.
I see enough tents in Ireland to know it is a widespread problem, is enough being done?
I don't think so,i know many have drink/drugs problems but also many haven't,they can't simply get a place.
What can be done?

Wouldn't it make any goverment to tackle these issues? you would respect them(applies to Irish goverment also)
Even if converting shipping container and having utilities in them would at least be a very cheap option for the short term. By the way,the vagrancy act of 1824 makes it illegal to sleep in a public place,no where to live and a criminal to boot. |

I agree that housing should be our main priority. We spend the 2nd most on housing in the OECD, just behind NZ which has much larger properties.
This will shock many lefties. It did me. The UK has a higher proportion of subsidised rentals at 18% (council or HA properties) than any other country in the OECD. Which means that for those paying market rents clearly spend more on housing. I wonder how many of them are for immigrants? Plenty of countries have none, including Denmark, Sweden and New Zealand. Worth noting that those 3 countries are 3 least corrupt countries in the world on the corruption perception index. |
