Saw it for the first time last nite
without any knowledge of the plot
Blew my mind apart

I have to see it again to work it out
Don't normally watch a film twice
But need to make sure I understand
And of course Cameron Diaz needs closer

Watch the original, Penelope Cruz also stars in that as well. Imo vanilla sky was a great movie.

I like Tom Cruise but I am absolutely gobsmacked that anybody could enjoy that sh1te.

Good film IMO.. I suppose if you were the victim of an acid attack you would go to the mirror and hope it was all a dream with a guy standing on a futuristic sky scraper until reality sets in and the bathroom light comes on

I've seen the original Spanish film, which is great.
Never wanted to watch this remake for that reason. |

Just hate films where you invest a couple of hours of your time trying to work out what is going on and then the filmmaker throws all rules of logic and common sense out of the window in the denouement - that is, if they even bother with one.
Bit like the stupid riddle at the end of 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers, but with Oscars. |

Havent seen the original but as well as the rewatch value, I thought the director did a great job in that you can let it wash over you if you aren’t following it closely first time out. Very much his style of emotive conversations + clever dialogue + great soundtrack (the sigur ros tunes work really well in this) + nice looking shots (matched the colour of Diaz car to the colour of her eyes etc)
All of which is subjective of course and could be interpreted as an elaborate wa nk, horses for courses and all that. |

Got to admit I too enjoyed Vanilla Sky. Each to their own.
