Busy high flyers might find instant coffee more convenient.
I certainly like a cup of Nescafe myself, which I find essential when working in the white heat of today's high-tech environment, where the extra oomph gained from a cup is so important to give one an edge. |

Worth investing in a 19 bar pressure espresso machine for a proper home barista experience.
Instant coffee does and always will taste like s*@t and an honest man deserves more than that. |

As the Dr says, ye cannae whack Nescafe Original.

Morning, MD.
I do like a simple Americano or occasionally a latte. Did you enjoy the GE coverage? |

I rarely drink coffee other than my nightly cappuccino
I once asked for a cappuccino in Rome in the evening. The server looked at me like I was a mentalist |

Must admit I like instant coffee ... Nescafe Americano is my preference ... not a strong taste but no bitterness & very enjoyable
I do drink several cups or more per day |

ok
if you've only got instant then do this brew it as normal, remember not boiling but very hot water then chuck it in a blender with some good quality butter and then either maple syrup or honey and maybe chuck a bit of milk in there as well if you're that way inclined blend it. drink it. wallop. the blendr will froth the milk ever so slightly leaving a head on the coffee best you can do at home without a coffee machine serve it in a coffee glass if you've got them rather than a mug -- today i've been drinking my coffee with single cream instead of milk, pretty good there's many ways of drinking coffee. i like to mix it up if i'm in a coffee shop then it's a cappucino all the way cappucino is the classiest coffee you can get, forget espresso, pound for pound cappucino delivers most bang for the buck however I will drink a black coffee or an espresso from time to time, depends on the mood you can get better instant these days, not just nescafe standard regular stuff but they've done some good mixes of instant and ground i really should buy a coffee machine but it's the cleaning that bothers me and also having to buy the beans |

That’s all very interesting B_M but you won’’t put out me off my nightly cappuccino. I know it’s ****
![]() The only other coffee I buy is Aldi Gold Decaff instant. As you can see I’m not a coffee connoisseur. Thanks for the invite, Boxing ![]() |

Hang on a minute! I’ve just looked at the ingredients on my cappuccino. It’s different from the one B_M has posted.
Skimmed milk powder 31% Glucose syrup Decaff instant coffee 15% Coconut oil Lactose Acidity regulator (E340) Stabilisers (E331, E452) Salt It’s almost a health food ![]() Btw, I’ve heard of putting butter in your coffee. I don’t think I’d like that. It sounds a right faff to make. |

Try filtered coffee Callisto. Every morning I make 3 or 4 cups of black coffee with my coffee machine and it knocks crap out of the instant stuff.

ill take a look for one on Amazon cheers driver.
I want something with taste without the walk to the American outlet. |

forget espresso, pound for pound cappucino delivers most bang for the buck

I use an AeroPress to make espresso strength coffee. It only takes a couple of minutes and just needs a quick rinse to clean up. I prefer it without milk or sugar and use the best quality coffee.

I like my coffee strong and rough, which rules out anything but cheap instant. My favourite is Morrison's own brand. 2 heaped teaspoons with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Water that has boiled but given a few moments to settle before filling half the cup. Add 2 teaspoons of coffee mate, no milk. Stir and enjoy.

Barista with/without milk. Or strong Turkish coffee (only a small cup) - they are potent.

Used to be Nescafe gold ,but now its ground coffee only ,tried it all but keep coming back to lavazza rossa and oro in evening . Drink a lot of coffee ,use a coffee pot ,empty it once a week .Like latte but its flat white now although been trying to cut down on milk alltogether ,drink gallons of tea as well . No suger in anything .Tea thread was very interesting ,although it appears the aficionados have abandoned the tea pot ,surprised tbh .Does anyone use a tea pot these days ?

How do you have your coffee?
Orally - preferabbly via a mug |

Don't drink coffee myself, feel much better with it out of my diet.
People who take care of their health should read this. Giving up fresh coffee (not instant) can be as effective on your bad cholesterol as taking a statin. http://www.nealhendrickson.com/mcdougall/2004nl/040700pucoffee.htm All the claims are linked at the bottom. |
|
By:
I'll take my chances, Dr C, thank you.
No more than two cups a day and never after 6pm. Everything's fine, just fine. |
|
By:
I stopped drinking it when I found out it upsets the stomach.
Went without it for a week or so and felt better, started drinking it again and didn't feel so good. Got the same effects every time I went through that procedure. I do miss the uplift it gave me first thing in the morning, and of course the taste. Tea just doesn't cut it. People need to be told about these things, because anything which is frequently consumed that raises cholesterol and blood pressure, as well as giving us indigestion should be common knowledge. |

By:
People should be wary of substance abuse, I agree, not all are illegal. Likewise, if you have a medical condition take care not to exacerbate it. Being cemetery side of 70 I'm not for denying simple pleasures for the dubious advantage of an extra year or two in a nursing home in the not too distant future.

If I have to be somewhere and I haven't 'emptied' so far that day then a strong coffee beforehand does the trick. Suddenly needing to go when in an inconvenient situation would be terrible an is a longstanding fear.

^^That did happen to me the other day when I was out walking.
Caught short ten minutes from home. I got home with my buttocks clenched tighter than a Scotsman's grip on £20 note. |
