They were in the process of reconciling. The man got a text from a woman, Sally got jealous and killed him. She told multiple people that if she couldn't have him, no one would. She's been painted as a victim who was pushed to breaking point. This is nonsense. She killed him in a jealous rage and should never have been released from prison.

"they were in the process of reconciling" yes - based on a detailed contract written by the deceased that no one in their right mind would agree to; but she did! Driven over the edge. Did you see the programme Libertyne?

oops....meant to say good post stewarts.

Agree, lybertyne.
It was a clear case of premeditated murder. She went to see him at his home with a hammer in her bag. Also she held down a responsible job in the police service I believe. How could she do that if she was so 'upset' about her husband's behaviour? This case gives most women a license to kill their husbands and get away with it. |

Spot on lybertyne. No excuse for what she did.

I did notice that almost everyone in the court was female.
Prosecution team, defence team, head judge, maybe another judge, most of the officers.... |

True, but the head judge was at pains to point out that Coercive control was not in itself a defense for murder. This woman had undoubtably been controlled and belittled by her vile husband for years, although he was a very rich man she had to spend all her earnings on buying the food and running the house, he paid very little from his vast income, instead buying luxury cars, motor bikes, paying for prostitutes etc. Nobody had a good word to say for him, on holiday staying at one of his friends houses in America, she hugged his mate in a normal way that friends do, his response was to order her to the bedroom where he proceeded to Analy rape her!
He never spoke to his mate again, he had a xmas card produced for his garage where he was naked on the bonnet of his Ferrari with 2 naked models, which he sent to all of his and his wifes friends and family. Imo as his wife got older and less attractive he went off her, they stopped having sex and he sought his excitement with prostitutes! Like a lot of men he thought that young women would still find him attractive and sexy but he wasn't attracted to women of his own age. A vile awful man imo, did he deserve to die, No not imo, but his atrocious behaviour over very many years towards his wife undoubtably affected his wifes mental well being(Drove her mad), and basically this is what the Appeal court judges found, quashing her conviction for murder and finding her guilty of Manslaughter instead. She had served about 8 years in prison already so she wasn't let off as such. A disturbing program of male controlling behaviour and it was her Sons acceptance and support of his mother that stood out for me to persuade me that they eventually came to the correct decision and verdict, bearing in mind that he loved his father growing up. |

Just an observation about the number of women in the courtroom really.
Can someone fill me in on how he was so wealthy. Was he from a wealthy background or was she? |
|
By:
No he started buying cars and doing them up to sell for a profit in his teens and eventually bought his own garage and sold cars, must have done well.
|
|
By:
She told multiple people "If I can't have him, no one can." That's enough for me. She got off because she's a woman.

A lot of people say that when their partners are having an affair or have left them, men included.
When this was first discussed on this forum i like you Lybertine said "She took a hammer from her house to his and caved his head in, has to be premeditated murder". Having watched the program last night and as in all Court cases, if you are not actually in court you only get the edited highlights in a Newspaper or TV report, add to that the fact that she hardly tried to defend her actions in court, by answering "I suppose so" to most of the questions put to her, not surprising i and others were quick to find her guilty. Have you watched the program Lybertyne? |
|
By:
Lybertyne, i even started a thread about it, this program has changed my mind.

There are a lot of men who get given a hard time by their wives....if the man murders her, would he get off with it?
She could have divorced him |
|
By:
They had divorced.

I see
and I also see she has spent 8 years in prison Still I would be wary of allowing women to smash their husband's head with a hammer, even if he was her ex What happens if a husband forgets to do the washing up ![]() |

By:
uble - now you are appearing stupid. She wasn't "allowed etc". She was convicted of manslaughter, the previous conviction of murder was found to be unsound.
As for "her ex". Suggest you watch the programme. |

MANSLAUGHTER!!!...she smashed his head with a hammer?????
Still you are right Blackburn, I have not watched the program.....so you can ignore my comments I will look for it, if it is on again |
