Kirk attributes his longevity to a plant based diet, and will celebrate his birthday by eating an extra lettuce leaf with his lunch. And possibly an extra radish or two with his evening meal.

there is a clip of him on You Tube accepting an Honorary Oscar in 1996 just after he had a stroke i think ,looks quite ill.would have got good odds on him lasting another 23 years then .....just shows you ,you never know how long youve got left.
