He’s got a note from his mum apparently, but surely this is an unfair advantage?

Ties are uncomfortable so not having to wear one is a big advantage IMO. With big money at stake, all the other players should be allowed notes from their mums as well.

Shocking.
How slovenly can he get?

I've seen Tom Brake without a tie in the HoC.

I looked it up Torq and found this.....Maguire has special dispensation not to wear a tie during games as he has a doctor's note exempting him from having to put one on.

Speaking earlier in his career, the Scot snooker star said: "I played with a bow-tie for my first few years as a professional but developed a neck condition and that really put me off.

Rules stipulate that players at the tournament must wear formal attire, consisting of smart shoes and trousers along with a collared shirt, waistcoat and bow tie.

Yeah, I knew that Boxy, but I reckon he’s just pulling a fast one because (like everyone else) he doesn’t like wearing a tie.

I don’t begrudge him though, just a bit of gamesmanship on his part. Happy

Alex Higgins pulled the same stunt apparently.

I’d have to get a doctor’s note to wear shorts on account of my betty swollocks.

its just a daft rule, when you look at the stupid adverts for davesgarage.com
or weironanypants.com on their waistcoats. the tie rule is just a legacy from a
different era. wearing a tie is smart, but doesnt have any part in the game.

still, you wouldnt want them dressed like darts players, or sporting silly hairstyles
like gary wilson...

I’m predicting AJ within 5 rounds, but admit that I don’t really have a clue on this one. It might just be wishful thinking on my part.

It will be interesting to see if he can get revenge - playing anthems now.

I've had a few quid on Ruiz as I thought he beat him fair and square last time and I can't see any real reason why Joshua will be able to reverse the result tonight.

Thank you EK, but I don’t deserve any congratulations as I didn’t really have any clue on this one. I only bet s tenner for extra interest. I do think AJ is genuinely a great fighter though.

Commiserations on your bet mate - hope it was only a small one.
