I've had a few bottles of Pappy Van Winkle over the years and it's expensive because they produce so little.
It is delectable though.
Other really good bourbons that I've tried are Black Maple Hill 16-Year-Old & Michter’s 10 Year

Also bought a bottle of this about 15 years ago. I definitely didn't pay the current price !

The price is only about 50 dollars but it's impossible to get hold of.
Normally well over 750 quid per bottle

On the JD tour we got to try, Old No. 7 (black label), Gentleman Jack, Single Barrel, Tennessee Honey, and Tennessee Fire. I didn't like any Shocked I'm not a JD fan, just wanted to see the place

i like a drop of whisky ,, nothing fancy usually under 25 quid ..irish or singlemalt.. plus side you aint in and out the toilet all night.. but the smooth stuff is dangerous... too easy to drink... not sure of most peoples intake , but I easily do 3/4 of a bottle and half fall over going for a P  Laugh

On a tour once a Scottish connoisseur explained that before fridges purists would take a river washed stone fed from the ice cap mountains and put it in the glass to bring the temperature down, hence 'on the rocks'. I believed it, quite plausable.ShockedHappy

He also said ice in Whiskey is the ultimate sacrilege, instead put a small drop of the best water (filtered tap in my case) you have. He was spot on. Happy imho
