Does anyone here have their own snow leopard or donkey? Do you get a "letter" from your donkey/snow leopard telling ya life is grand now cos of your £3 a month? Does anyone know if there are job vacancies to help the poor animals write the letters to tell you how they are getting on now?
Thank you, this wasn't meant as a duplicitous query and applied to no one.
We all have seen the ads on the telly,i think i would have a certain apptitude in writing these letters on behalf of the snow leopards/donkeys regarding their progress, how do i go about it?

inlaws sponsored a tiger for me two years ago, it died during the year, and i got a letter telling me my sponsorship had been transferred to a new tiger if i didnt mind
think he was called roqué, probably all the letter writing finnished him off
i had a elephant orphan off other inlaws 10 years or so ago with sheldrake trust, hes still kicking around as far as i know zurura
not sure i would ever reply to a 3 a month job as they seem to be the start for scammers

That must have been a tremendous shock YHTL,indeed one minute writing away telling you everything is great in the Savannah and then you were asked to bond with a new tiger you knew nothing about, your some man to have handled that so stoically.

he might still be around had he employed a skilled letter wtiter so he had more time to go hunting.
obviously different for elephants, as they have a trunk with which to grip a pen, and elephant pooh paper has become a useful sideline for these guys.
big cats , donkeys and pandas would be the way forward, imo.
pandas are such lazy feckers , they may not even interview you

Giraffes are my preference YHTL,if any one wrote back a nasty letter saying i wasn't a great correspondent,i would tell them they have some neck just to throw them sideways.

yet seemingly giraffe watchers report over 90% of attempted matings between giraffes are between two males
easy to see where the figures come from, even if the extrapolation is dodgy.
pa lapsy working for a giraffe could easily put the record straight

I knew nothing about that kinda carry on and not sure i would be suitable for writing letters for giraffes,i won't know what to say.
Don't think any one writes for poor lemmings, they look "cute" and one of the few that aren't getting £3 a month.

i saw it on the telly, they ambush them by standing on rocks and waiting until the tide comes in, clever bears.
evolution, innit
they can breed with grizzlies too, so all is not lost if the americans dont shoot em all.
might not be a great job writing for a polar bear, but if you get one like the one in "his dark materials", then maybe they will dictate their letters.

There was one on the telly tonight, give £3 a month to lonely old people, i didn't know what to make of that,i'm not callous but won't they be better off giving them a tenner to go to the pub,i'd be mortified if i was on the lonely persons ringer roster personally.
I think you are right about the polar bears YHTL,not a lot to say really, the weather, maybe throw in northern lights and igloos the odd time and having a grand feed of a few seals after the whale, looks to be the height of it. Other than calling one "Snowy" there doesn't seem to be a lot of names which compounds it.

pine martens never have anybody stand up for them because they like eating red squirrels, but deserve a fairer bite of the charity cake.
maybe pa lapsy can build their profile, and perhaps get them eating the vermin that are grey squirrels.

what are you going to do when they shoot all the bears to protect the whales
ho ho
it sure is some scam they have running
wonder how many salaries are paid to WWF careerists

My writing talents are limited,i'm not sure i could give them a very positive profile, however i think it won't be hard to put a radioactive kinda dye in a grey squirrels food to make their hair turn red YHTL?
You have a point Moisok, the cheeky fellas on C5 were looking for a fiver a month for hedgehogs and the norm is £3 even for the lonely old men appeal!
I have two hedgehogs in the garden(Spike and Scratchy) and i never applied for any charitable donations,i made them a hotel from a large plant pot filled with straw and covered that with felt, they went i think into hibernation a couple of nights ago as its cold(they might have just legged it). Spike runs the opposite way like a lunatic when he sees me, i am trying to train Scratchy who is very tame and will let me rub his snout but the training isn't going too well.

why don't you get a profile on snip snap twitface thingy and demand money (aggressive like and saying they are threatened with extinction )
saying you need a new house for them and send money
all the others do it

I couldn't Moisok, when i was getting a bottle of highland black last week,i saw a load of big leaves in the shopping trollies(the trolley park station yoke was under a tree) i picked a big plastic bag of the leaves out and i didn't care if i got funny looks. I dumped the bag of leaves outside their "house" and you want to see the unadulterated joy on their little faces as they brought the leaves in individually.

I got the leaves in lieu of a duvet, though a hot water bottle wrapped crossed my mind haha.Jammed the wooden plant pot with straw, well insulated and the felt will keep them dry, can't do anymore for them.
Anyway i sidetracked myself, surely there must be at least one person on chit chat that writes the letters and acts as an intermediary between animal-charity- and donator?

you should be selling the hog pooh to the neighbours, its really good for the garden. not giving it away, ffs.
we have had a few staying for a few nights but cant get them to stay for long periods.
maybe scratchy can be the face of your letter writing, thats a nice angle into the uk market, as hedgehogs are very popular.
£5 a month is a bit steep, but if they get that then good luck to em.

Lads, this is terrific,a great response. I really feel judging by all the ads on the telly this is a booming market and a thread like this will be handy to have on your curriculum vitae if you want to persue it and particulary if you get liable to the premium charge. Lfc,yes they do be at it for hours though i think a lot of the noise is the female "protesting" and in the end she says feck it and gives in. Good point re fertiliser YHTL,i did miss that, though when fresh there is some wang off it and i think i will continue just to gift it. I have submitted a photo of Scratchy to the mods, maybe we can draft your first attempt with Scratchys letter this evening, i will try to capture his personality while at the same time having empathy with the donator(fee is £0 per month @ 1318% per annum)

That is a noble thing you are doing Foyleswar, you need to spot the faster "donkeys" and the future of the thoroughbred will be safe.
Moisok,i feel the momentum is being lost, maybe the photo approval person is inundated but however given the amount of time that has lapsed i feel he is doing a disservice to Scratchy and indeed all hedgehogs particulary at this time of the year.

its not a good time to start an appeal for scratchy as the poor lad is likely to be having a rest at this time of year.
ive noticed in the fields around our way their are lots of pheasants this year.
normally they are dead at the side of the road, as they head off looking for territory of their own but seem to have evolved into being able to fly across the road.
i counted nearly 90 last week, mainly immature birds
people could pay £3 a month to keep the farmers fields full of seed that they enjoy
its a win win win,
we could even do scratch cards to win a day watching them and a tour of the farm, with a nice roast dinner thrown in !

Haha Deplaster,Hartley only came back because he doesn't have to listen to sky commentary on the PGA tour for the rest of the year. Good stuff!. No fear of Boxingthefox not making a good fist of writing a letter on behalf of an animal. YHTL,in fairness they are a biggish bird with a small head so= tiny brain, won't be surprised if so many if someone around isn't growing corn or something like that and then getting a rifle out. I like the scratch card idea, scratch 3 and win a pheasant, very good.
I know a lot were waiting in anticipation of Scratchys photo,3 days in, it is still "pending",the team at betfairs photo approval department have let us down here.
