Elderly neighbours asked me to set up a second hand Echo Dot they had been given.  They have a Galaxy tablet about 6 years.

I am a Apple user and not familiar with Android or Echo or Alexa.

Echo plugged in and blue light circles and instructions says to wait for Alexa prompts - but after a couple of minutes just turns red.

Try to download Alexa app but says it is not supported by the device.  (The tablet seems to run slow, did a speed test and 8MBPS - so should be
enough speed.  Only half disc space used on device, but probably never been cache or temporary files etc never been cleared...The OS is 4.2.2 which
google tells me is 2013 - so presumably the original OS.  The Automatically check for updates is checked - so don't understand why no further updates
have been installed?

They only seem to use if for Facebook and emails.

Also their battery seems to run down 1% every minute.

I don't want to start deleting stuff from their tablet.

I did suggest getting a new tablet, but old people don't like any change.
