It does not add up.  How very odd.  Normally someone in this position would be all over it.

Because she's not up to the job, but if they were in power it's a huge job.

I would have thought that politically it is a tremendous opportunity for her, as the shadow home secretary, to gain a deal of political cred and hammer the tories.
Instead we have jeremy whinging on about early releases/serving of jail terms etc.

Why would she? She ain't stupid; she's nothing new to contribute; she's on a good annual remuneration with a generous pension to boot in retirement courtesy of the taxpayers. And, she's been extremely lucky given her political "talent" and association.

It is being reported that Abbott's son has been CHARGED with "BITING A POLICE OFFICER".   (Yes, you read that correctly). Charged yesterday, case to be heard in February.

I'm sure this is a silly big old misunderstanding. For one thing, we all know the Shadow Home Secretary has huge respect for the police and intelligence services, right? 

And we ALL also know that police officers look just like bars of Cadbury's chocolate, so it's hardly surprising they get bitten. I actually ate two delicious ones myself only yesterday, which maybe explains the reduced number of police officers on the streets this last few years.

Invisible Abbott Senior has since pulled out of a TV debate tomorrow. There's a surprise.

I think it is hilarious how some papers are silent on this matter.  Of course one paper has no room to print anything as all space is taken up by much more important issues - like the homophobic nature of The fairy tale of new york  - much more important.

There was no 'secrecy' involving the charges being bought, and there can't be any conceivable reason why the charges can't be given the widest audience.

There is also a very clear Public Interest in this case, given the mother of the accused could be in charge of the police on December 13th, and when the case eventually crawls to court. Perish the thought there might be any possible conflict of interest.

imagine if another 'leader'  say.........  had a row with his girlfriend.    Would that be all over the media with 'police involvement'  for days and days and days  and with protests outside the house   ho ho ho
