I bought a pair of wiper blades (length 24"). It came in a box enclosed in another box 6" wide x 26" long with bubble wrap. How ridiculous was that?

The reason Amazon do this is to stove the courier vans out so they cannot carry as many parcels thus becoming heavy dependent on amazon.
It was this situation about 10 years ago that lead to Parcel Force not renewing their contract with Amazon. Basically Amazon negotiate such a good deal for themselves at little if any money for Parcel Force then come Xmas our vans were full of Amazon sh1t that we were missing out on the better paid contracts and private business
