Would be a risky job for a lone female entering household premises. Andrew Page mainly delivering to commercial garages etc,

Meter readers as rare as rocking horse **** these days. I think they are only obliged to read the meter every two years.
Middle aged slappers are employed by factors companies to boost trade. Garage mechanics salivate over them when deliveries arrive. |

Lady Ferret ...i was indeed a meter reader for 3 years ...an ideal job for me being somewhat lazy, unambitious and lacking motivation
anyway , i met around 40 different readers on our regional meetings ...yes ! a fooken meeting for meter readers anyway , we were all male and the only female lady reader known to work at the company in 30 years did the job for 3 weeks before becoming as area manager not sure how that came about ? You're entering a lot of strange premises doing that job and not the place for a lone female ..so there is the answer for you Sir. The job itself was decent in the early days (2002/4) back then you worked your round as you felt fit and were paid well accoringly ,if you knew the areas and used common sense ...then it all became automated so no more time spent in the pub/on the beach etc during slack periods/hot weather and so i went into betting full time which was a blessing as the job soon became a tedious nightmare . |
