Criminals attempting to break into our country.  No different to people who break into houses.  The Left will say they're seeking a better life.  Again, no different to the criminal who seeks a better life by stealing your goods to fund it.  People who are kidnapped and moved against their will - they are victims.  Paying thousands of pounds to voluntarily be moved - criminals.  One question I do have - why pay thousands to travel in a container where there's the possibility of death when they could use the money to buy two fake passports, one to travel on and a 'British' one once they're here, and plane ticket to Heathrow?  Travel as a tourist and then simply disappear.

Your analysis is correct but it is only a viewpoint.
You think they are breaking into your country. Others think they are fleeing their country. Whoever controls the media and government will win the argument. Period.

Regarding fake passports, first of all faking passports isn't that easy as you make it out to be. It isn't just about faking it, it is about being able to successfully use it for the rest of your life. That would be expensive, and without guarantee.

Then there is the scale. There must be millions of illegals in the UK. That's imaginable. A million fake passports? No way. An illegal getting caught can't be sent back home, because you don't know where he came from. He gets asylum. A fake passport holder goes straight to jail or to the country of his earlier travel like you mentioned.

Then there is also the matter of governments themselves using fake passports for ease of movements of people working for their agencies. You cannot allow every tom dick and harry to make fake passports.

Therefore paying money to get in via smugglers is the safest option, and one with a very high chance of success, higher than what you could achieve with fake passports. No one's stopping you from coming in and once in, no one can send you back.

And many people have to pay back the smugglers later. Not everyone that comes is cash rich.

For the smugglers there's no risk. They already have the smuggling net in place. It costs the same whether they transport 10 people or 20 people. So letting a few people ride along with no upfront payment is no problem. You can however get your family killed if you dont pay back.

I think the relevant authorities have an idea the number of immigrants in the country without appropriate papers. And, I also believe if the relevant authorities are to do a clean sweep of minicab offices and Uber drivers they will have a very rewarding day; the black cabbies will be as happy as Larry too.

I think the Chinese community are much more aware and worried about raids by immigration offices thus do not wish additional scrutinyupon themselves and business. But, I've never heard or seen the same been done on minicab offices and Uber drivers/ or even those working in major supermarkets using false id? Are these people untouchables?

When will this country eventually issue id card to every eligible individual? Please do not tell me it's because of the cost involved as the money pledged during electioneering will easily cover it many times over. ID card is urgently needed.
