Where did they go? Opportunistic "entrepreneur? I love sockeye salmon, presently on offer at Waitrose (still expensive) thus waiting for discount voucher before ordering; panettone at 1/2 price is very welcome as it will be x'mas soon.

If the salmon were missing in its entirety and none strewed on the road surface then possibly they could have gine walkabout prior to accident; 20 tons is one hell-of-an-amount of salmon to lose.

32,000 oz to a ton, one salmon steak is about 5 or 6 ounces, so 20 tons equals about 100,000 salmon steaks.

One steak is at most a foot long, 4" wide and an inch thick. Thirty-six steaks per cubic foot, so a total volume of 2778 cubic feet

In a standard large 40 foot container, the load would be about 7 feet wide and 10 feet high.

One large lorry-load, in other words.

Nothing fishy here imo.

When I was a young boy my mum sold a kitten to an American couple.  The man pronounced salmon as saL-mon - clearly pronouncing the 'L' and the 'O' in 'mon' was short as in 'pot'.  Never forgot that.
