|
By:
Why all this free stuff?
Sounds like bribing to me, and labour can get away with it because they ain't winning But they need 51% of the eligible votes to claim majority consent 51% vote and its all they need to carry on stripping away at your remaining rights Only way is to keep it a hung parliament, it buys us more time |

|
|
By:
Are they going to take over all the 5g implementation and associated costs?
|
|
By:
the so called free market doesn't work because BT who are prepared to put the money in ,wont because the government/ofgem wont let BT make a decent return on their investment, their competitors wont put the money in because they want to try and piggy back current and any future infrastructure they might invest in

tories-going-absolutely-berserk-on-social-media....
Is that why it’s been quiet on here. Every cloud. Mind you, Labour’s offers do smack of bags of sweets from men in raincoats. |

I think we should have free McDonalds too. A big Mac and a milkshake for everyone twice a day then we can do away with the foodbanks.

Labour can't even keep their own website up and running, following a Denial of Service attack this week, by a group who understandably don't like political parties that openly support terrorists.
This fairly low-level and unsophisticated attack was then virtually ridiculed by the National Cyber Security Centre. Allah help us all if Labour ever gets to be in charge of a nationalised Internet service provider. And as for the ludicrous claim that this will all be free of charge, who is going to pay for the privatisation of BT, and all the technilogical and support work? Guess what? It's you and me, the British taxpayer. Most of us have of course already paid for this service. . https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-cyber-attack-lizard-squad-ddos-corbyn-general-election-a9202006.html . https://order-order.com/2019/11/15/party-cant-keep-website-running-want-nationalise-internet/ . |

Coach
My thoughts exactly But the state wants control over the internet, who has access to it and what you can use it for Remember the old days when it was free of all the junky ads and whatnot? back then it was like being a hiding place on the net, nowadays everyone and their dog is on the sodding thing |
|
By:
Makes state control of internet more dangerous ?
|
|
By:
I see no problem with it. As long as I am in charge of it. There will be an enforced 2 hours per day viewing of 'LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE'
|
|
By:
Only 22 percent against the idea.
Looks a real vote winner and a potential masterstroke from jezza. |
|
By:
As party member I am likely to be running it.
|
|
By:
Yeah, right. First they have to win then stay in power until 2030 to see it through, Like that's going to happen on all levels. The trouble with Socialism to is two fold, 1st; socialists have nothing---and want to share it with everyone,
Secondly, eventually (as recent kistory proves( they run out of other peoples money. |

Firstly, just as the NHS is NOT 'free at the point of delivery' this gimmick isn't free - it's taxpayer funded.
Second, why should the Duke of Westminster, Barclays Bank and Gary Lineker get free wi-fi? They are able to pay for wi-fi now, yet poorer people's taxes are going to be used to pay for the rich to have 'free' wi-fi? It's the most regressive tax imaginable Third - who remembers when telcomms were last owned and run by the government? You had to wait 3 months to get a phone installed (unless you tipped, ie bribed a local telecomms engineer), whilst Americans had those stylish 'trill phones' we had some bakelite lump, with rotary dials and there was no incentive to innovate or provide excellent customer service (see also British rail) Fourth - British or Chinese routers? Fifth - By 2030 everyone will be getting their wifi via 5g or 6g mobile signals. Wires? How last century (mind you, Labour have frm in this - after theWar they bought all the steam trains just as the rest of the world was going electric) Sixth - Will Google, Facebook etc prioritise investment in a country where they are being taxed to the hilt? Talk about counter-productive Once again, a great soundbyte from the Comrades is about as robust under closer scrutiny as a chocolate fireguard |

Free internet will save the country fortunes brothers.
Open your mind to modern productive thinking. Next should much more tram lines with nominal annual hop on hop off charges. Another cost effective modern idea. Obviously much much more bicycle lanes. More green spaces too, with free outdoor gyms. Come brothers enjoy life, work less, stay healthy, be more conscious. Together brothers we can achieve greatness. ![]() ![]() |

Imagine someone proposing the NHS or free libraries now. The right wingers would be up in arms. The answer is that it could be introduced and be completely normal within a couple of months.
The internet is a major part of a lot of people's and businesses' lives now and the UK's internet service is appalling. Capitalism has completely failed to provide the right solution once again with it just being a race to the bottom on cost cutting and customer exploitation in the place of quality service. This country needs and deserves a change. Anyone with a brain will pray it gets it. |

Labour just need to dangle another goody bag and this lead of the tories will be reduced to 12 points

There are more important things in the hierarchy of mans needs, ahead of free wi-fi, that this amount of money could go a long way to tackiling in the UK.
No one died from not having Internet access Plenty die from homelessness, hunger, being stabbed, suicide. |
|
By:
Boris could have proposed the same thing and you wouldn't have heard a word of dissent from the Tory/non-taxpayers on her'
|

Tories will implement it should they get a majority
State funded internet has always been on the cards |
