A pretty stupid idea but needs must apparently (allegedly) ,my questions  are thus .... given the HIGH chances of weather playing its hand what mechanism has been put in place to ensure everyone who wishes will be able to vote without it causing undue risk or stress can do so .Also how many elderly people do you that uses postal voting ?         I have had a look at the process online as i have not seen it advertised ,one would think the GOV would have advertised the process or even sent everyone over a certain age the information they need ,inform the electorate that if they wish to use postal voting they must register a form ,you need to get a form and then send it in no later than 27th of November . Reason i mention is the currently large parts of the country are affected by what could be called adverse weather and by DEC 12th it could be much worse and i can see it becoming an issue . It was a bad idea to hold a general election in Dec imo and if the country is adversely affected by a big  extreme weather event i see nothing sensible in place to make sure people can easily register their vote or even have the election cancelled .Current voting procedure needs updated ,modernised imo and made more secure and user friendly .

All the bonafide chitchaterists have got off the bus many stops ago ....i wonder why ,
Report pa lapsy November 14, 2019 6:58 PM GMT
No BB,i know you have to register to postal vote, that is it.

I did follow, maybe it was the dry humour comparing it brexit and i got that.

All forums are deadish, presumably people left betfair and or using other forms ofsocial media, or maybe getting told to feck off as you aren't that bonafide.

No point in worrying about the weather, what will be will be,most likely will be regonial.

Where I live the local Co-op has been flooded Crazy

Roads totally unusable, the erewash has burst its banks in nearby village Crazy

The water is just washing straight off the fields and onto the roads as well, one mile of road just down my street is under water, its total madness here probably the worst we've had since I moved here Laugh

If we get anymore of this its going to get interesting, its suppose to rain again tomorrow all day as well Cry

I would presume its going to stop at some point in the next week though, it can't carry on like this

When did they stop dredging up your way then?

before the last lot of flooding down in Somerset  they had stopped dredging about 10 years before

The river parrett dredging was stopped and or slowed down over a couple of decades

as has happened in the other rivers   and the farmer's field drains

I used to live there and it was a yearly (or more) task

guess where the guidelines for this disaster came from?

They don't dredge them LaughLaugh

The water running off the fields is just normal after this much rain though

There will be a hosepipe ban next week after it gets above 12 degrees 2 days running

I have no idea of the set up in your area but where I lived it created problems where there shouldn't have been.
