The quote posted by you have to laugh was taken directly from City Am, so city boys obviously aren't good at maths either, but I suppose we all found that out the hard way 10 years ago.
Corbyn's full quote from 2017 was “In the 1920s, JP Morgan, the Wall Street banker, limited salaries to 20 times that of junior employees. Another advocate of pay ratios was David Cameron. His government proposed a 20:1 pay ratio to limit sky-high pay in the public sector and now all salaries higher than £150,000 must be signed off by the Cabinet Office. “Labour will go further and extend that to any company that is awarded a government contract. A 20:1 ratio means someone earning the living wage, just over £16,000 a year, would permit an executive to be earning nearly £350,000. It cannot be right that if companies are getting public money that can be creamed off by a few at the top.” Throwing the word 'nearly' was disingenuous as it meant he could stretch the figure when there was no need to. In regard to all workers he merely mentioned "some kind of high earnings cap" without mentioning a ratio. Man City yet to be affected as far as I can see. |

there is a lot of sense in trying to close the gap between the top earners and those at the bottom. The problem is it works both ways. Corbyn and his cronies despise the wealthy and are determined to destroy them. The Tories, on the other hand, aren't really for the working class.
We need something in the middle. |
