The 11k scientists list looks quite similar to terry McCanns list of 'over 180 countries against 5G'. That list basically includes nutter organisations from 180 countries(mostly organizations that have nothing to do with tech).
I still don't know why we are so worried about global warming. In India and Pakistan, people have been given the rest of the week off due to the quality of the air there. Both countries are neither worried about the pollution they cause nor their overpopulation issues. So why the feck are we worried? |

Exactly juce. That's why the truthfulness of global warming is irrelevant for most of us to discuss today. Those concerned can start a global campaign to stop the polluters and overpopulated countries to take action. But no one wants to or has the ability to do that. But they expect us to pay!
Countries have been invaded for petty issues. Economic sanctions put on them when they don't fall in line. Yet we are going to have untold and unseen misery in a few years time and we can't use those measures? How about invading India if they don't cut down on pollution. |

If you go to twitter and search for air pollution levels in lahore and delhi, there are people complaining about arriving in the city and being unable to breath properly. Air pollution levels are off the scale(US AQI only guides up to 500(Hazardous). Lahore was between 600-800 yesterday. Delhi was also off scale but I can't see an exact reading. Apparently two cricketers vomited during the game between Ban and Ind.
What's more, these levels are around 200 for the whole year in Delhi! In Sweden, the value hardly goes over 20 in most places. Greta should be in India telling them to get their act together. |

Not sure what the point of this thread is.
So supposedly 11,000 scientists signed an on-line petition and some of the names have been found to be taking the piss (much like people on here). The website hosting the names is now re-checking the names https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/climate-emergency-names-1.5350570. Unless you have seen the names on the petition and have diligently worked your way through them then you have no idea how many spurious names were on it. It seems people are keen to concentrate on the names on the petition not on the content of the paper. Perhaps a contributor to the smog in India is pumping CO2 and other stuff into the atmosphere. Over-population of the planet was actually addressed in the paper under discussion. Then we have moisok repeating his normal stuff and being oh so funny with his very clever misspellings. Ho, ho, ho. |

charlie, if they are correct, ask yourself why they peddle 11,000 as the truth when it is not? Why does this lily need guilding? When someone lies to me I ask why, and I assume they lie about other things. They are only preaching to the -unquestioning- converted, and the kids who believe whatever they are told. The rest of us will soon tire of it.

WTF are you on about. The is more than 40 years of temperature data. Thermometers existed even before the 1980s - can you believe that Injera- that must blow your mind. Wasn't it "global warming" first but when even the numpties out there questioned the fact it was colder than it was the previous year, they soon changed it to climate change. "I'm yet to be convinced- this report is for 40 years, if only there were any other scientific reports, papers, more data, from before 1980 then I could believe the theory."???? Maybe you think there needs to be more scientists working on the subject & far more money spent on research? Because if that is the case Injera - you are in luck. Guess what there are reports using data pre 1980. The science about CO2 producing a "greenhouse effect " is well over a century old - the science pre-dates the measurements & data showing that the globe is warming. |

It is always about the potential of more power and loads more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Yet they refuse to see it. I don't really understand why ?
My theory is that they cannot except that their whole life has been lived within a lie and rather than open their eyes and try to come to terms with it they chose to deny it. Somehow they miss the point of all of this as some of us are only trying to help them understand the world they live in BUT they dont want to know. Their belief system is their shield against reality and they fear taking it down Sad really. Easier to shout others down with the tin foil hat bollox than face up to what they are being informed about. |
