The poppy is an icon of the sadness of people lost in conflict,
Red for the blood spilled,
Green for the colour of the land it was spilt,
Black for the widows and loved ones left behind,
How dare LGBTQ try to hijack it for there purpose....
disgusting

I guess they got the attention they wanted.

Eh? Red is for the blood that was spilled, green was for ... Where does that come from?

Red is for poppies because red is the colour of poppies, and poppies were adopted as a symbol because they grew naturally in the battlefields and cemeteries of the Western Front.

Between the crosses, row on row

Completely disrespectful from dambuster in hijacking a poppy's natural colour. Disgusting.

if it's rainbow coloured it can't be  a  poppy , simples  .

agree with ramruma

Poppy fascism? What a load of manufactured hot-air!

Wear one or don't wear one.

Wear a black one a white one or with a fairy light on, but acknowledge that your right to choose is down to young men and women who gave their lives to support your freedom of choice - some of them against real fascists, not the pretend ones that social justice warriors see everywhere.

And, of course, some of those who gave their lives for our freedom were gay.

They can stick their poppies where the sun don't shine.

The US Navy wanted to use "In the Navy" on their recruitment ads, which is why they let Village People make the video on a USN ship.

Luckily (or not) someone tipped them off.

All the nice girls love the navy
All the nice girls love a tar
For there's something about a sailor
Well you know what sailors are
Bright and breezy, slips in easy
It's a women's pride and joy
So, if you see one on the front
With a candle up her cu2t
Ship Ahoy! Ship Ahoy!

Fuss about nothing, as Hanx says.  Mind you......

Coachbuster says - "if it's rainbow coloured it can't be  a  poppy , simples". BUT poppies come in most colours including multi.... The Welsh Poppy for instance is bright yellow.

Hth, even though it wont.

i'm still trying hard to fathom out why everyome regardless of whoever they are just can't just wear a traditional red poppy (If they choose to ) and be done with  Crazy
Report Ramruma November 6, 2019 8:53 AM GMT
My poppy is firmly traditional, but in the RBL poppy stall in Sainsbury's there is a vast selection, including many different metal/enamel badges, brooches and even self-adhesive ones. I've no idea if there was a rainbow one but tbh I was not really looking. Too much choice imo.
