I simply haven't a clue - I have been out of the loop too long.  My constituency contact is a Mr khan  ho ho ho ho sorry and all that - I simply give up!!
I am so old I could get a postal vote - now (thinks) If I get a couple of dozen together etc etc  - wot do you thin - A BACK LASH  - they love that term don't they.
It was no different in the midlands when I was active 40 years ago  one ward was 100 percent solid if you get my drift
with the 'owners' dictating who you had to vote for
