Trump golf course
![]() |
|
By:
the golf course in oban is very quirky, built along the sides of steeps hillsides and nothing at all to do with the chump.
To OP, I haven't been their for years so not really up to date. Nice scenery and like most scottish seaside towns you should be able to find a good seafood restaurant. The most imposing feature of the town is McCaigs Folly, built during the depression to give some work to unemployed locals. |

Lovely town and beautiful area. Make sure to call into the Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum on your travels. It's on the A82 AND A85 about an hour before you arrive. Tyndrum also has two completely separate and operational railway stations. Enjoy your trip

Excellent food served next door to the Green Welly in the Tyndrum Inn, btw

never been but a good friend RIP took his family 4 times a year to Tralee Bay Oban, said it was heaven on earth.

The view to the west from the beach at nearby Benderloch is something to behold. As for the Falls of Lora, check out the tide tables to see it as the tide is going out.

By:
as an east coast Scot I view the west and the highlands and islands with great suspicion.
oh aye they are very pretty to look at but so is a moscow hooker and neither should be trusted. they get up to all sorts. you do know that the wicker man was a documentary? |

morpeth - Do they still serve food in the MacDonald Arms? ... only Bar food, I would imagine.
Thought the Restaurant - which is/was situated Upstairs closed donkeys years ago - along with Accommodation - Well before the former landlord Bert Hall passed away 12 years ago. The heydays were many, many, years ago. The Mishnish has had some chequered history, too - although the more recent refurbishment has put a lot back to where it was. |
|
By:
yes, still serve food, ( bar food, cheap and cheerful ) . did close years back and can remember bert ( legend has it fell in fire few times
). still go in to see susan and me mrs makes xmas cake for her and staff. mishnish serves food, usually fine, does pizza offer on mondays which is good deal. had staffing problmes in summer, not sure how faring at moment. tobermory scullery just up from mish near youth hostel is canny, scott and his partner ali run it , very nice people . daresay you know about macgochans burning down, bit of a shame but are plans to rebuild it. |
