Labour MP Keith Vaz "disregarded" the law by "expressing a willingness" to supply cocaine to two male prostitutes, the Commons standards body has found.

It said there was "compelling evidence" the MP procured a class A drug and had paid-for sex in August 2016.

It is recommending he be suspended for six months after he was "evasive and unhelpful" during the investigation.

Mr Vaz would not comment on his future but said he was receiving treatment for a serious mental health condition.

The revelations, first reported by the Sunday Mirror, led to Mr Vaz standing down as chairman of the Home Affairs Select committee - which at the time was conducting an inquiry into drug policy.

The young escorts he had invited to his flat with the words 'We need to get this party started' were, in fact, professional decorators.

They had kindly dropped round at 11.30pm on a Saturday evening 'to discuss interior décor' in his apartment and, because he was a busy MP, this was the only time he could meet them. Laugh

Yesterday, the married father-of-two's explanation was branded 'frankly ludicrous' by the Commons' standards committee.

If he's not kicked out of the Labour Party then the Labour Party is not fit for purpose ie representing the common folks, instead bending over backward to facilitate political correctness and the precious minority votes that Labour worshipped regardless eg keeping shtum about the grooming of vulnerable young white girls by the Pakistani community of minicab drivers and their "friends".

He was not sanctioned about the Hinduja ad Mrs Egginton affairs eg enquired about the former Citizenship application) and deliberately lied against the latter who was a retired police officer about an upsetting phone call to his mum he claimed was from Mrs Egginton. In both cases he used his position to try and influence the outcome of a Home Office decision, and intimidate a public individual whose friend was a personal assistant of Mrs Vaz who'd accused Mr and Mrs Vaz for employing an illegal immigrant.

I hope he'd lose all privileges associated with The House Of Commons.

I think lying is a fairly common trait in some communities (not confined to politics), and may even be considered as an asset. However, to most here is irritatingly arrogant, and annoying too. Personally, he was also full of himself in his heydays, but never came across as someone sincere and/or genuine.

Will he be the candidate for the Leicester East constituency?
Couldn’t have come at a worse time for Keith.
“Good morning sir, can I count on your vote
Oh btw I won’t be able to represent you for 6 months “

What is it with these Mps???

Paul Sweeney told the Scottish Mail on Sunday the Tory MP had grabbed at him in the Strangers’ bar in the House of Commons in October 2018, and then tried to put his hands down the front of his trousers.

A spokesman for Mr Sweeney added: “This assault, which took place last October, was reported to the appropriate authorities after similar but entirely separate allegations were made by other men against Ross Thomson in February.

Labour's Keith Vaz, who was suspended from the Commons after he was found to have "expressed willingness" to purchase cocaine for others, will not be standing for re-election.
Mr Vaz, who has been MP for Leicester East for 32 years, said in a statement he was retiring from Parliament.
He said it had been "an honour and a privilege" to serve his constituency.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he had "made a substantial and significant contribution to public life".
